have you tried talking to some of the northerners at O2 retentions :D

    I understand the indian call centre b e t t e r. ;)

unlock my phone, well Ill cross that bridge when I come to it.

Anyway 15 pound for 500 minutes. They can talk in punjab for all I care :rotfl:

LOL! Cheered me up for the day! Their english is pretty good. But they just read out answers from the book.

When they do retentions they ring you up from UK.

Good network but they are real b**tards when it comes to unlocking!

Hi all. I started my contract on Orange 200 xnet and 200 text for £35pm. With e"save, This 12 month contract did include £180 cash back. When this contract expired I threated to leave . I was then told I could have 500xnet 500 text at £25pm (select 500) tariff. With a free NOKIA 6230i.

Now my contract is coming to an end. Is there a better deal with Orange Retensions offer for £25 then the SELECT 500.?

Or a discounted Line rental if i do not take a phone?

When my Orange deal finished 2 weeks ago I got 500 x net minutes and a free Sony Ericsson K810i for £15 a month for 18 months which is brilliant for me as i dont use texts at all,but you could get some texts thrown in on a deal i expect.

I've been on 02 for the laste 18 months on contract, and had another 02 contracte before that (been with them for years) and have spent all afternoon and evening up till now on the phone trying to get a better deal from them.

Basically my partner pays £20 per month on his 02 Pay as You Go and gets 450-500 xnet anytime miuntes and about 150 texts per month.

I very politely asked them to match that on my contract bearing in mind I am due for update/end of contract and happy to commit to a 12 month contract - and they won't do it.

How come Pay as you go customers get better value for money wit no comittment!

They also offered me 3000 minutes and a rediculous amount of texts for £35 per month on a month by month (no contract) basis, if keeping my same old handset! I don't need 3000 minutes I only use 500-600 mins per month and a handful of texts if that!

I would have been happy with 500xnet anytime roll over minutes and 100 text for £25 p/m but they wouldn't let me have the rollover, but would be happy to give me 400 text per month instead!

I can't understand how they can chop and change things so easily yet still find it impossible to give me a contract that actually suits my needs!

    Any suggestions welcome

My orange contract was up and I called their disconnections line - they actually have an option to choose if you are thinking of leaving - and got a blinding deal. . . . The Dolphin, which is 500 minutes and UNLIMITED texts and any phone of my choice for £20 per month, which also includes the VAT. Its an 18 month contract, but I really don't mind at that price since with my old package the price I was paying for texts was making my bill enormous.

Definately worth a go, but I was prepared to go to my partner's network anyway so I kept calling their bluff :-)

Sounds like they've put you on Racoon/30 with a £10 recurring credit. Check to see if you have unlimited evening and weekend calls to landlines - you might well have...!

I've been out of contract for a while (been with Orange since launch) and just got Dolphin/20 with a £5 recurring credit making it £15 a month, 75 any network minutes, 200 txts on an 18 month contract. They sent me a phone as well but I've just stuck it in the cupboard as a spare, don't even know what it is but it's a Nokia somethingorother.

Unlike some networks Orange don't seem to offer cashback instead of a phone, which makes me think they're getting them dirt cheap from Nokia.

With Orange when can you phone up and threaten to cancel and get a tariff by Customer Retentions? Is it only when the contract has expired or can it be like a month before?
