I have a Sony Ericsson W5501 phone on Orange at the moment and my contract runs out in 3 weeks, when is the best time to get a good deal ???
I got my phone through the infamous CoolNewMobile on a 12 month contract and have not had a problem with cashback but i am thinking of staying with Orange but going direct with them, as cashback is a real pain.0 -
Does anyone know off a telephone number for 3 that is UK based or shall I go through Hutchinsons which I believe is the parent company.Be ALERT - The world needs more LERTS0

Hmm - my version - been with O2 years and never bothered really thinking about the haggling side before - this time round I was at least able to go from my (oh my god so uncompetitive once I looked around)
125 minutes (O2/landline only) , 500 texts for £30/month!!!
to 200 mins x-network, 500 texts, for £20/month, though I did agree to 18 month contract.
I am sure I should've tried harder but it's a nice step in the right direction for me - thanks for all the valuable advice on this forum!0 -
Currently I am on Racoon £35 - some 250 mins, 12 months contract.
I am about to complete my 6 months in few days and since I dont use any minutes (due to having more minutes on O2), So I want to go to the lowest / cheapest possible tariff on Orange.
I called Orange Customer Services (and you guessed in Asia), and they said i can only go to the next level down £30, but i told them that i dont use any minutes at all, so i want the lowest possible.
Whats the cheapest tariff I can go on, since i dont even use a single minute on Orange ?. : )
Please help.0 -
I am locked into an 18 month contract. After the half price 6 month period my plan went up to £48 - double the price for half the minutes!! I have remonstrated with them strongly as they do not allow you to downgrade for 9 months and then charge you £25 for the privilege (new rule from Dec 06 apparently). You are not informed of this until you try to downgrade. They are totally immovable. They only let me have a £5 downgrade one month earlier. 3 is a total rip-off.0

When mobile phone companies contact you by phone and arrange the deal, are they still required by law to send you a contract? My son didn't fully understand what he was 'signing' up for, but he has never received a written contract. We want to return the phone.0

My orange contract runs out in 10 days and i have just bought a Virgin lobster tv phone for only £39.99 (on their website) on pay as you go with 200 mins free. So what i plan to do is use the 200 free mins then call Virgin mobile and as i am a Virgin Media customer i can get a £10 a month sim ( works in the lobster no problem) which gives me 300 x-network minutes and 300 texts each month. So going from a £30 orange contract (200 mins and 50 texts) to £10 a month with virgin mobile (300 minutes,300 texts) is a no brainer !!!!!!!!!!!!!0

O2 and I have just agreed on a new 12 month contract: 250 minutes and 100 text for £15 a month with £100 credit, which works out at £ 6.66 a month. I think we are getting to the bottom of this, and they won't be able to go any lower.0

My Vodaphone contract expires next week. Twice in the last 2 months I've been in store asking what phones I could get and what "deal". The phone I wanted was not a free one according to them. Liked the look of the 3 £15 offer.
Rang yesterday and asked what I need to do to cancel. Told to write to an address. Then I asked about porting my number accross and was told they would send out a code in 3 to 5 days (thought they should give it too you straight away??). This would automatically cancel the contract as well.
Got a "courtesy" call today asking why I was leaving. So I complained about all the things lost from my package. He offered me 125 mins, 250 texts for £10 for 15 months and then £20 for the next 3 and thereafter - £210 for the 18 months. Plus a free phone. I wanted the S-E K800i. On 3's £15 offer I would have had to have paid £340 (£70 for the handset). So a saving of £130. Result! :T After reading these boards though, maybe I should have haggled a bit more!!0
