I just upgraded yesterday only to find that Carphone Warehouse is offering a better deal with the same handset to new customers. I'm paying a higher monthly rate and had to pay an up front cost for the phone. New customers can get the same handset for the same monthly price and no up front cost, or they can get the same handset and a better data package for a lower monthly cost and a lower up front cost. Is there any point in trying to call and complain now or have I lost my chance?
Edit: I did a bit of research prior to my visit but didn't take it in with me to back myself up.0 -
See the cancellation policy of your network. Some allow to cancel upgrades.
And check TCB/Quidco for CPW.0 -
Success with Three. I'm currently on a £19 per month unlimited data with 100 mins package and have 1 month left to go. Checking my bills, I've used just under 2GB of data a month for the last 12 months. Therefore I've used 3 to 4GB of data as a start point.
Three's best price for a 4GB Sim only package was £21. ID Mobile and Talk Mobile offer one for £10. Called Three for PAC and at first the best they offered was £12. Stood my ground and asked for PAC. Was then put through to a department who offered me the £21 package for £9 per month. RESULT. Now on 4GB data, unlimited mins and texts.0 -
Two weeks to go on vodafone contract, and have been saving to buy a phone upfront rather than upgrade through them. Researched cheapest sim only deal which was carphone warehouse ' s id network and contacted Vodafones disconnection department (through live chat). They offered me 1000 minutes unlimited texts and. 1gb data for £6.00 a month. This enables me to put the difference I'm saving with current contract into bank enabling me to upgrade again in 12 months if I wish. As I buy refurbished phones of ebay works out much cheaper over length of contract. Only took 15 mins and I find using live chat beneficial as you've got time to think and calculate savings( with aid of pencil and paper)! Rather than talking directly.0

Morning, can somebody please advise me.
I have 25 days to go until I am out of a Vodafone contract.
I have a PAC code and currently know which tariff and provider I am going to go with.
If my PAC expires on 18 June 2016 then will it be feasible , as an example, to set up the new deal with the new provider just one day before , on the 17th? Or does this not allow enough time?
Thank you.0 -
Just had a letter saying my Virgin mobile sim only deal is going up by 60%! Well from a fiver to 8 quid a month (unlimited data and texts, 250 mins). Will have to ring and see what they can offer, it's still a fairly competitive deal from the big name carriers but might use lack of 4G (although 3G is sufficient for my use) as a stick to beat them with.0

To follow on from my previous post had another letter stating my 'discount' was ending and as such my bill was going to £18 a month! A crazy increase from £5. Called up, they could only offer me package with 50p per month off their standard rate even with a lower data allowance. PAC code in hand so will be leaving after 8 years with them (willl stick with an EE utilised network as the coverage is very good I find).
Anyone had any recent luck with Virgin? Can I expect a call in a few days offering a better deal?0 -
Just had some success with haggling with EE for my son's phone. He was on a £21.99 contract with Unlimited calls and texts and 2GB data and EU roaming, but contract was coming to an end.
Wanted to switch to SIM only.
Data is the only thing he really cares about, so my objective was to max out on data.
EE offered: (for SIM only)
£18.99 for 6GB
or
£15.99 for 3GB
or
£19.99 for 8 GB
I said this was all way too high and pointed out that as we're BT broadband customers we could switch to BT mobile and get £9/month for 2GB or £20 for a massive 15GB.
Mentioning the BT deal seemed to do the trick (I also said that my hubbie was keen for us to 'consolidate all our accounts with BT... ' ;-)
Suddenly she could offer me £15.99 (incl VAT) for 15GB of data!
I'm fine with that, and happy I don't have to faff around changing my DDs for my Santander 123 account!0 -
hi does anyone know anything about the network tello?
is it any good?
they seem to have amazing prices?0 -
For an occasional user- Awesome!
I had one, topped up (I think twice) £2 each- everything was great, CS is brilliant, but being BIG data consumer- didn't fit my needs... got my PAC no probs.
PS you phone MUST be 3G (4G) compatible0
