Orange have offered me a Sim only package, The Works (12 month) 1GB of data, unlimited minutes and texts and under ‘other’ inclusive public WiFi. All this at £21, which after my perk discount is £15.75 a month inclusive of VAT.
£15.75 is a cracking price for your usage, I would personally go for it.0 -

Hi everyone,
I am looking for a bit of advice. I am currently with orange and was planning to upgrade but the deals they are giving me are really rubbish. It is only £15 off the handset (I am planning to get the HTC One) on a £42 monthly deal.
I looked at both carphone warehouse and phones4u, they both seem to have better deals for upgrade. I would save around £10 a month. On quidco, there is £50 cashback deal for CPW.
My question is could there be any problems going via 3rd party companies such are CPW or P4U? Billing or wrong charges etc
Thanks0 -
This looks like a good deal:

Hey all
can anyone tell me if Three offer any good deals for existing customers? About a month ago I got my partner an iPhone 5 on the One Plan, but I now want a sim-only one plan for myself. Can I get them down from the £25/month being an existing customer, and how should I approach it?
cheers

Call them up and ask them. If you don't ask, you don't get.0 -
My iPhone contract with O2 ends in December but I'm getting sick of the extortionate rate and I've been with them for at least 5 years. Is there any way I could haggle them now, maybe by threatening disconnecting with a cancellation fee?0

The easiest way is just to vote with your feet.
Alternatively buy a new 12-months sim-only contract as a new customer with £50 quidco/TCB cashback. O2 reportedly can do an internal transfers of your number to the new contract.
That said, you have to blame your iPhone in the first place for the "extortionate rate", not O2. iPhone contracts are notoriously expensive across all providers, especially for newish models.0 -
I've been an Orange/EE customer since 1998 and my current contract was the Dolphin 20.50 - 200 minutes, unlimited texts and 100Mb data.
I've been out of work for a few months now so it's getting difficult to afford a mobile bill of anything up to £40 p/m (only recently as I've been calling agencies, etc. to try and find work).
So I phoned up to explain the situation and asked if I could be switched to PAYG. Not ideal I know but it would help me to cap the cost. In order to do that, I would have had to pay up my contract at a cost of £127! Quite simply, I've not got that sort of money and told them so.
I was put through to one of the managers who listened as I explained the situation again. After about 2 minutes on hold he came back with 1000 minutes, unlimited texts and 500Mb data for £8.80 p/m.
I've since discovered that this is a non-advertised tariff used in dire emergencies to stop people leaving the network. I will, however, not be renewing my contract in January and will switch to PAYG (I can't be bothered with the hassle of transferring my number). I intend to go with either O2 or Tesco with a new number as coverage is so much better.0 -
