My 'in laws' don't like me, though my OH insists they do.
But it's quite clear they dont, they really liked his ex, when OH and his ex split up, the ex made the MIL promise she wouldn't meet me - as a result I wasn't invited to OH's birthday party (we'd been seeing each other 5 months and living together for 3 weeks:( ) Now theres an event coming up that I really dont want to go to, cos I know I'll feel like poo and in the ex's shadow, (i dunno why cos shes a mentallist with a face like the back of a bus)
I know they think I'm not good enough for him, as far as asking him in front of me why he doesn't find a nice local girl (I'm not local, but neither is he since he went to uni at 18!) admitting they tried to fix him up with a gorgeous girl, but she was 'too old for him' at 32, I'm 33.
MIL has called me by the ex's name, she apologised profusely, but it still hurt.
Theyre fine with the bro's gf. Even to the point of subtly putting me down in front of her.
We have an event to go to in a week or so, I told them I'm wearing a long dress. I heard the MIL afterwards talking to the bros gf saying oh no dont wear a long dress thats a bit old, show off your figure, you'll look amazing and upstage everyone there!
I was sat in their company.
How rude? The thing is, I'm a long cry from a munter, I used to be a model !!!!!!!
So why be like that?
Everytime I leave there I feel utterly worn down and worthless. They live 200 miles away so its always over a weekend that we have to stay.
Next time I'm definitely putting my foot down and NOT going, they make me feel like crap and its not on.
My mum is an absolute star and gets on ever so well with my OH, they really like each other. I just dont get it
Sorry about the rant
