Finally managed to pickup a coup[le of petrol jobs. All those dozens of alerts over the last 3 months or so, and none were in my area!

I've bagged two, cba to do a third as it'd be further away from me.

    Whoohoo!

I've picked up a petrol one too! It's near where I teach on a Thursday afternoon so should be quite handy! Can't wait to read through the briefing notes and find out the specifics.

Not as yet - my wife's trying to get hold of the MSing company to explain why they sent someone who wasn't capable of doing the job.

UKM I'm looking at your email NOW! ;)

    I'll summarise for you:
From what I read of the above, you don't fit into the scenario but you're going to 'risk it' and do it anyway?

I meant I am going to risk it and maybe not get paid becuase I am going to places to enquire about this particular sort of account anyway. My query is with the scenarios as with some of them you have to be all the things that I am. So if anyone else has taken the job maybe they can explain it to me as I may be misreading something. As for giving false data I am not going to be doing that as with this job you have to just give name and tel no not anything else and no checks or appointments are to be made. With the scenarios given you could not go any further as you would need two of you present as it would be a joint business venture.

I am sorry I ever posted in here now - my query was with the scenarios as they dont seem to match. I thought you and the others had maybe accepted the same job and were having the same problems as I was trying to understand some of it. I am not doing anything that is wrong apart from thinking some of the scenarios are a bit strange.

My initial query was the bit about being self employed becuase ALL mystery shoppers must be self employed or otherwise they are working illegally so I thought it a strange thing to read. I am going to contact them to double check some things as even if I have to wait for a response it might be easier than be made to feel like I am a cheat or something

If anyone else is actually doing this job they may read it and think the same as me, if not it is just me misinterpretting something.

angel13, I would recommend that you phone GfK and ask them about the scenarios. If they confirm that you're eligible, then great. If they say you're not, release the job.

They really are very nice on the phone, and have answered queries for me when the scenario didn't seem to match the initial information.

Unless of course you work for the few PAYE ones. (not many left now:confused:)

Sorry can't help you on the brief, but it is always best to phone the company direct for any queries such as this, forums can be good, but who knows if the person giving you advice did it right in the first place. they won't mind how silly the question, if you hear from them, what you can and can't do, then you know from the start, if you have made a mistake by accepting the job, tell them and they will release it.

thanks a lot and to Ilona (I hope I got the name right as I cant see it now) :beer:I have emailed them to confirm I am eligible. If anyone else does take the same job as me they might see that when you read through the scenarios they are a bit peculiar (well in my head they are anyway:D)

As for PAYE ms companies I did not realise there were any as all of the ones I am with are not :o

I went back through the list and we are going for a romantic meal (well supposed to be!) so Ive found one near there - which is miles from where we live! I now have to explain how going out romantically involves a stop off at a garage (especially when i am trying to teach partner how to be more romantic!):rotfl:

BTW just saw a mail and some of the petrol jobs are now 2 places for the people who were asking - i guess you have to click on literally each one to confirm what sort it is though.
