I think it means you must also have a job - i.e. you cannot solely be self employed.

And...? This just looks like they've changed the scenario?

So I cannot actually do these assignments then? I am yet to register as self employed as I am in first three months of work and I do not work for anyone else as I am trying to set up a business and do freelance work from home. Sorry I seem to be being stupid but these particular bank accounts I actually need so I thought it would be an ideal assignment for me.

No you won't be able to do them - it's because the bank may do some sort of 'assessment' on you to see if they want you to have the account and if you're self employed, there's no proof of earnings.

my partner works though and thus I have proof of earnings. I have reread all the notes and printed out everything and I cannot see anything that could possibly be a problem so I think I will just risk it as as I mentioned before I need to go in and enquire about this account in the first place :)

Don't you think you're trying too hard - a bit of a square peg, round hole situation?

I feel really strongly against people doing this as MSing companies and clients issue scenarios for a reason. My wife is a manager at a well known supermarket and has had to give two of her members of staff a final written warning for failing a alcohol test purchase - where a MSing company send someone in who looks underage but aren't, to buy alcohol. My wife got the report back and her two members of staff (one serving, the other authorising as the server was underage himself) were automatically given final written warnings, as per company policy.

Having looked at the CCTV though, in disbelief that neither of these members of staff had asked for ID, she noticed that the lad (who was 20) was accompanied by his mum, which was against the brief that had been set. What had obviously happened is the mum is a MSer and has volunteered her son to do the job, but made the stupid decision to do the job with him. Her presence meant that they didn't need to ask for ID as they thought she was buying the alcohol, not her son.

It boils down to greed on the shopper's part; being desperate to grab the £5-£10 (or whatever) fee, but doing the scenario wrong and potentially costing two of my wife's members of staff their careers.

You really need to take a step back and consider what you're doing. Just follow the brief and if you can't, don't accept the job!

Sorry if that comes across as harsh but you're potentially messing with someone's career for the likes of a fiver.
