You're so right that it's addictive... my boyfriend gets so fed up of me constantly checking my emails and websites! But then, he quite enjoys it when he gets to do visits with me! Im sure he'll benefit from the Fast Food Chicken job I'm doing this Friday!TWBM 2010 Wishlist:

2. An MP3 Player for my Boyfriend
3. Some nice food!0 -

Could you use your mobile phone to write the items you have to memorise? You could just look as if you're writing/reading a text message when actually your reading a note or making a note of numbers?TWBM 2010 Wishlist:

What sort of store? If it's a supermarket, just write out a "shopping list"?Dan

i had to do a revisit for an audit yesterday and this time around (last time i used shopping list on paper) i used notes on my mobile. i had stored (in my own verison of shorthand :rotfl:) what i was looking for and the main things to remember and then i just opened it back up and adding the cost and no (each facing) next to relevant bit! soooo much easier that way for me:T store was still disorganised chaos so am hoping i might have to do another re revisit
btw who are your audits for as i am trying to find more auditing work as i prefer it.0 -

angel13, I would recommend that you phone GfK and ask them about the scenarios. If they confirm that you're eligible, then great. If they say you're not, release the job.
They really are very nice on the phone, and have answered queries for me when the scenario didn't seem to match the initial information.
I agree it's always best to check with the company. With GfK they've told me before (for certain jobs) that I can do them even though I don't meet the criteria; they're happy for me to lie so that I do meet the criteria (as far as the MOS is concerned!).0 -
Does anyone else feel guilty turning down jobs? I just had a call and was asked to do an audit - I turned them down because I did this same one a couple of months ago and it was awful - it took way longer than my regular audit with another company, and for roughly a quarter of the fee!
Please tell me I did the right thing. I feel bad letting them down and turning down the fee... but I really hated the job. It's not like I'm new to audits, I've done quite a few and have a large regular one, which is long but has a fee to reflect that.0 -
I would only worry if it's a company that you're fairly new with as I think it's always best to show willing and hopefully that will get you in their good books for future assignments. However, if you've done other assignments in the past and this is one of the few ones you've turned down then I don't think I would be worried. They have to understand that people aren't always going to be available to take every job that is offered to them as I'm sure you have other commitments.0
