with TNS alert about muffin jobs for anyone else who is new to them like me you can only take one even if there are lots close together!
I don't think it's that you're new .. I've been with them nearly 2 years and have only been allowed to take one

They email you if it is released so, although you get notified immediately, you do not get first dibs on the job. I got home from work the other day and they had emailed me about a petrol release I had reserved but by the time I logged in someone else had taken it. It's fair enough I suppose otherwise we could reserve everything and no-one would bother logging in very often.... I was still cross though!

thanks for letting me know, well i had shown interest in a catalogue job at same location earlier in the week. i did not get an email but then i came across the job showing again hence i was a bit confused. at least ive actually got one job this week in the town where i live thats something at the moment :) if it happens again ill have to check that my account is working properly when i try to reserve visits.

I think it's probably that they're very popular jobs and very few and far between, so to make it fair they limit them to one each.

Just a funny 5 minutes wondering.... I was in the car going into the next town to MS, I originally had 3 jobs, but one was cancelled so couldnt do it. So I only had the other 2. I did 15 miles there and back, for fees of £20 plus minimum spend. Still content, but like to pick up a couple of jobs in the area to make it worthwhile. BUT the shop had an offer on as a 2 for 1. So did well there, its not only the car park tickets thats breeding, its these little things... But what I was wondering, how far would YOU travel just to MS to make it worthwhile?

Bored or what!!! you can tell its that quiet time of the month.

A lot of assignments are only one per shopper because that way the client gets a broad spectrum of information. If one person did them all in one area then they will not be getting a variation of experience. (Particularly if they are from shoppers who like the in and out grab the money and cut and paste mentality).
    Happy snooping!

My initial query was the bit about being self employed becuase ALL mystery shoppers must be self employed or otherwise they are working illegally so I thought it a strange thing to read.

    Dear Angel

I hate to tell you this but, for the purposes of this exercise, your self-employed status gained from your work as a mystery shopper doesn't exist! Just like :santa2:..... well, let's not go there....!
I think what they mean is that your MAIN source of income cannot be from self-employment so they are looking for an MSer who has another paid employment in their 'real life' and just acts mysteriously on a casual basis:cool::cool::cool:.

Don't take the above comments too hard but you should take them on board. If you take this job and 'hope for the best' then, apart from depriving another MSer of the job, creating admin work for the MS company and wasting the client's time (as they will need to re-schedule the job for a later date and wait again for a result), you are messing the people at the bank about and possibly toying with their professional reputations (as Timmne mentioned).

Good luck with saving for your business and remember, there are lots more MS jobs all the time. This company may not look too kindly on any time-wasting and it could jeopardise your future offers from them.

    About the TNS Muffin jobs:
I think it's probably that they're very popular jobs and very few and far between, so to make it fair they limit them to one each.

I've a feeling that it's due to the fact that they all have to be done on the same day, so it will probably be to cut down on "shops" (can't think of the poper words, as I'd not class them as a shop, IYKWIM) ringing each other, saying they've just been mystery shopped, so to look out for a tall woman with blonde hair and a black top, or whatever!

    ..
    ...

Or it could just be TNS trying to control our diet by stealth.

    You decide! :rotfl:
