The Mystery Shopping thread - VIII

I hate to tell you this but, for the purposes of this exercise, your self-employed status gained from your work as a mystery shopper doesn't exist! Just like :santa2:..... well, let's not go there....!
I think what they mean is that your MAIN source of income cannot be from self-employment so they are looking for an MSer who has another paid employment in their 'real life' and just acts mysteriously on a casual basis:cool::cool::cool:.
Don't take the above comments too hard but you should take them on board. If you take this job and 'hope for the best' then, apart from depriving another MSer of the job, creating admin work for the MS company and wasting the client's time (as they will need to re-schedule the job for a later date and wait again for a result), you are messing the people at the bank about and possibly toying with their professional reputations (as Timmne mentioned).
Good luck with saving for your business and remember, there are lots more MS jobs all the time. This company may not look too kindly on any time-wasting and it could jeopardise your future offers from them.

Thanks I had other queries with the jobs as well. I have been in contact with the company and they told me that I was ok to do the work initially but then I queried something else as it just did not sound right to me and I am now not doing the work. I never wanted to do the work if I was doing something wrong but the wording made no sense whatsoever. I also would not have been messing around with anyone's profession career whatsoever as I do literally need to go and get an account and the list of scenarios given are just as examples so I was not going to need to use them as I have my real details to use. So I cannot understand even now why I am not suitable for this particular assignment becuase I actually have real reasons for needing the bank account. Oh well  Still need to go and get a business account and I dont think I now want to use these branches:D

Just a funny 5 minutes wondering.... I was in the car going into the next town to MS, I originally had 3 jobs, but one was cancelled so couldnt do it. So I only had the other 2. I did 15 miles there and back, for fees of £20 plus minimum spend. Still content, but like to pick up a couple of jobs in the area to make it worthwhile. BUT the shop had an offer on as a 2 for 1. So did well there, its not only the car park tickets thats breeding, its these little things... But what I was wondering, how far would YOU travel just to MS to make it worthwhile?
Bored or what!!! you can tell its that quiet time of the month.
Unless I get work here which is not usual I do round trips which are usually 80 miles covering a couple of places. otherwise a trip there and back on average is 40 miles. We were away for weekend and I got a meal same area so that one was a round trip of approx 200miles. If I can find enough work back home over a course of a few days i will be going back home to do them during the summer months so that will be round trip of 400 miles plus the bits of driving between places once I am there so Id approximate at 500miles for them.0 -

Ok I am now worried as I had taken one of these last week- this is what happens when you are new to a company  . I have a figure as mileage and another figure. Now I thought this was the fee and is enough to cover the items. IF instead this is not a fee than I am not being paid so does this mean they will reimburse me ONLY up to what I have spent and not the quoted figure??? If so I need to cancel the job as I am not doing it :mad:0 -

It does mean you're only getting what you spend. I did one of these, only realised when I was reading the job notes on the train on the way there! I did it, and will do the other one I booked at the same time, but won't do any more - and I told them this. Now this other client has come on, also with no fee. AND a lower maximum spend. Like another poster said, a meal out is fine, but just coffee? Are they serious?
Yet still I see people are accepting the jobs... so they'll get done. So why would TNS want to put a fee in?Dan

I wont be taking any more now I know this - I cant see this new client (unless thats the one I have booked the work with already). Its fine if you are going for a really nice meal as its a treat night/lunch instead of a fee. But not fine just for a coffee - id rather pay for it and have no report to do when I get in0 -
anyone know what date *** pay for jobs late may?0
