I have to say, once you've done 3 or 4 of them, you actually realise they aren't that bad at all ..... :rotfl:

Can't get easier than visiting a shop you need to visit anyway :T Don't have to pretend to be Rockefeller either!!

Thanks Lisa, Yesterday's response had me a bit bewildered to be honest as this also means that if I (or anyone else for that matter) wants to do a job on the actual date you see it that you are unable to. I find that bizarre as if its first thing in the morning why wouldn't you be able to book an afternoon visit for example. If I was to receive any more emails like that again I would consider not taking any more work and I haven't even done any yet

That happened to me and I emailed my AM who was able to change it for me on her end.

I read that as "I have got 13 jobs for July 12th" ... I was thinking how on earth do you get 13 jobs from TNS on the same day LOL!!!!

sorry i dont bother with ,'s etc when i am just in forums and chatting :D i wish i had that many jobs on one day as it would make things easier  apart from two days where i have two jobs on each all of the others are all over the place. I thought youd get the job and have a few days to choose from like ABAi and the like; and not have to do a selected day at a selected time.

Does anyone have any tips for the car circuit? I'm slightly nervous and a little reluctant to do them but could really use the fees.

Creaker, they're absolutely fine. You'll probably find the salesman is very eager to give you a great price anywways. Be cheeky too, ask for free mats or pearlescent paint and see what they say, it's quite fun :)

Thanks. I guess I just don't like the hard sell and I don't want to waste too much of my time and their time if at the end I'm just going to walk away, if you know what I mean. :)

I always come up with a scenario of my own for the car jobs so I can natter away. Last time I needed a 40k 4wd as I drive to my house in Spain regularly and I need a 4wd there as it's up a mountain.

Unfortunately one of the salesman knew the area well, but I really do have a place out there so was able to carry it off and told him to stop changing the subject and give me a good price (unfortunately my pretend house was the size of the 4 apartments in the block where I have one, personal pool was the size of communal pool etc, etc etc, still, can but dream :o).

Off to do some this weekend, small hatchbacks though so can't be too creative...... Maybe I want a small, reliable car left over here that I can use on my business trips back to the UK :rotfl:
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

I've been looking at big, posh cars today. Some of them were charming enough to ask if I needed to get my husband's permission before I could make a deal! I told them it was my car, so I was making the decision.

Main tip is to research online before the first circuit, particularly if you're not that into cars normally, so you know the terminology. Say that your friend / dad / sister in law has the same car, so you know exactly what you want, you just need a great price from them, and keep going on at them until you get it!

If you they do agree to your price, have an attack of nerves, thank them profusely for the great price but you really can't sign today as you're not sure... and run.

Alternatively, if they haven't been too lovely to you, say that you've just had a message (as you will have been messing on your phone whilst they go out back to 'talk to the manager') and really need to go now, but will be back tomorrow at the same time.
