Co-op Cashminder debit card changes to VISA Debit from June

I applied for a cashminder account in the Oxford branch of co-op this morning. I repeated 3 or 4 times that I was opening it to get an electron card (for Ryanair etc) I wa assured that I would receive an electron card...... We shall see.

my replacement card ordered on Monday has arrvied and it is an Electron. Called the bank and it turns out it was cards ordered after midnight on 8 June that are new ones (2-in-1 Visa debit), so my card has been re-ordered. Seems I have one of the last electron cards they issued.

I have just spoken to someone at the co-op and she has told me that people with cashminder accounts will not be getting Visa Debit cards as it is not that sort of account.

They keep contradicting themselves. If you go onto their website and call the new account opening line for Cashminder accounts and ask they will tell you the opposite.

Has ANYONE actually got one in their hot little hand yet?

I can't see the numbers on my old green electron anymore, but I'm holding out until the visa debits start filtering through before I order a new one.

Yes even on the cashminder web said come with debit card just waiting my new card turn up.

My Cashminder Electron expires in October 09, so think I will hang on until then, someone soon may receive the new card and let us know!

Still waiting my card turn up just phone up the lady said still on queue because of alot application.

After trying on Monday and Tuesday (being told that Co Op do not/will not do a Visa Debit), I thought I'd struck lucky when the bloke on Wednesday said he can order me one. The card arrived today - Electron with the same card number as before. I don't even think it's worth me calling in again.
