Co-op Cashminder debit card changes to VISA Debit from June

The chip on my card has been dodgy for a while so I called this morning and asked too and they are issuing me with the new type of Visa Debit card without a cheque guarantee.

I tried telephoning back but the advisor is on his lunch... he's gong to call me back in an hour.

To be honest i don't think you'll need to lie about your card being damaged, i'm sure they'll give you one if you explain that you need it to buy train tickets or something where as the electron card doesn't allow this.

I'll report back soon.

Just open another cashminder account this morming , hopefully will receive a new card end of the week.

when you apply for a second cashminder account do you have to go through the same process as with the first account ?
Also do they ever ask why you want two accounts ?

Yes you do, I got referred for both mine, the applications were 5 months apart.

They didn't ask why I wanted another one.

Sick of my halifax electron card, so if i get this i'll be over the moon!

No she didn't ask why but only said you can transfer money from one to another easier and quicker. A very nice lady.

Everything is on hold i was told by the advisor earlier on this afternoon.....

I was advised to call back next Monday and try again

I have just spoken to the feedback dept. who are going to call me back. Getting conflicting information as armchair banking is saying I have been issued with another electron card with the same card number and new applications line is saying they stopped issuing them yesterday.

Maybe I was too quick off the mark asking for the new card, will see what they say when they call back. New app line think the card I will get will be a 2-in-1 and not an electron??
