Can't remember if I said this or not - even if I did it bears repeating:

THose folks who are cutting down are doing a great job just by addressing their own circumstances and doing what makes them feel better. that's all there is to it - yes there are some of us who cut it out altogether - BUT that does not make us in any way better - it's just what works for us.

All I know is that I personally would find it harder to dip in and out of drinking and I suppose I am a little bit envious of those who can live it on a day to day basis.

Above all - we must all do what's best for us!
    Take care...constant vigilance....!

  • Morning Peeps. Welcome newcomers :hello:.

Well I've been rubbish this month, probably as predicted by most of you :o.

Holiday next week is now cancelled as Father in law is now very ill in hospital in Chelmsford. Have to have a few days out locally instead so we can 'be around'.

I have been drinking every day, but not excessively just 2 or 3 cans, except last night when I had 4 (though I did leave some of the last one). I had an 'F it' moment when we got back from the 160 mile round trip to hospital.

Must try a bit harder. Am off work next week, so not sure whether that will make it easier or harder not to have any.

Will still try and keep it down low anyway, but it would be nice, as Fay said, not to be thinking about it all day again!
My own silly fualt I know ..... Molly where are you :D:p

Anyway - the plan for this evening is to try and find a low Alco wine like Lumbrusco and stick it in the fridge and to share it with Mrs BHB. Worse case it will only be a couple of units then. Anyone know of a DRY type fizzy wine ... Spumante ?
The sweet stuff is Yuk ..... though maybe thats a good thing ? .... Perhaps I wouldn't drink so much of it?

Anyway - enough ramblings from me ....... See you in about a fortnight after I've read back all the pages that I've missed :rotfl:

    Morning all :D

Jo my total was 8 for yesterday when you get a chance hun. Thank you :j

BHB - hhhhmmm  The way I manage cutting down is to be really strict with my days. I don't drink at all Mon/Tues/Wed/Thurs [unless it's a very special occasion or am on holiday] I drink Fri/Sat/Sun but less than I used to. I never ever thought I would say this, but I honestly don't want a drink on my AF nights anymore, and when I have that first drink on a Friday I actually enjoy it all the more for all the right reasons.
I don't know if that makes any sense :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: and it won't work for everyone, but after nearly 5 months of doing the challenge mid week drinking is just a big no no for me now [NEVER thought I'd say that ] It is all a habit forming thing I think. I am now in the habit of not drinking mid week and it has become second nature now and I just don't want to.
What I am trying to say is :rotfl: perhaps if you were strict with the nights you drank, give it a couple of months it might work for you too. You come to accept it just doesn't happen anymore. If I had a bad day midweek I would have a drink - now if I have a bad day mid week I get through it without that drink. It wasn't easy at first, but now it is a doddle - honestly
Does that make any sense? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

BHB you'd be better with Shoeler - the rest of it is either high in alc content (Cava >12%) or rank.

Or have you ever tried that fizzy raspberry stuff its awesome ?????
Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
    minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:
