Me too Maman
I am actually very proud at what I have achieved in cutting down when I never thought I could and I hope you are proud of yourself too
:T
Ok, maybe it isn't for everyone but it IS possible and some of us are managing just that.
If you can't cut down, then clearly you are one that does need to stop, but cutting down is fine by me and I am dead chuffed I am managing it :j
Thanks Fluffy, I needed that. While I do agree with 69chick that it's good to air opinions, I hate feeling like an interloper. I suppose it's the dual nature of the thread. Have a good day everyone, usual here- dark clouds, warmish and the odd peep from the sun. Is this our promised long, hot summer??0 -
Fay - lots of ((hugs)). I know those feelings so well. And the bit about the wine and a book struck a chord with me! I'm very good at shutting myself off (usually when I've got a drink inside me and my reason is all skewed). And its so unfair to other people. Reached breaking point the other week and never want to get to that point again. I guess you and me are a couple of the ones MP talks of - the ones that need to give up rather than cut down.
GC - so much of what you say hits home with me. I used birthdays, christmas, weddings, bad days, good days, indifferent days etc all as EXCUSES to have a drink. I even got bottles of wine in for a gathering of relatives for my sons FIRST birthday!!I didn't even bother with the requisite jelly and ice cream for pity's sake! I was so excited about having my son and now I've managed to spend a lot of the important days of the first three years of his life with my head in a bottle. I've done lots more, if I were only honest with myself. Not quite that brave yet though. One day at a time.
Maman - I certainly hope than no-one on here feels like an interloper? This thread is for all of us...cutter downers and giver uppers. For support and yes, for guidance from those on here that have managed to already get themselves to the place they need to be. I, for one, appreciate everyones opinions and support on here.
Right, I'll stop waffling. I was meant to be being quiet!
Miss P

sneaks in quietly, having been an accessory to the latest debate...if I can call it that.... I do agree with 69chick that I also feel like an interloper sometimes, which as said can't be helped with the cutter downers and the giver uppers partying together...
I don't comment very often or 'chat' specifically with individuals but I do read all the posts, and as previously quoted everybody has there opinions some more than others, and I still think everybody should be proud of their own achievements. And that's all i'm saying on the matter.. apart from Oi PIR I copied and pasted the text from this thread.. so less of the Oi....:rotfl:

Soz!!!! Bit sensitive, aren't I?But I'm v proud of my achievements, it's often quite difficult not to give in to the clanging bells, and remain AF in order to achieve the target!! :j

Have a pleasant evening everybody. All quiet here - all DDs gone to see Harry Potter - I hope they all manage to get in to the cinemas. All gone independently with their own friends ...
