hi Jo, can you please update me to 6 AF! Had a good birthday with family round but jumped back on waggon last night! Hope to keep it up until I go away in 2 1/2 weeks but we'll see.

Also I noticed on reading a few posts back that my June score appeared not to be updated; it said 22 when infact i'd managed 25/26 (post 4158) - one under felt better than being 4 under :rotfl::rotfl:

off to read a few more pages of posts that i've missed. Have a good day all X

    Morning Peeps. Welcome newcomers :hello:.

Well I've been rubbish this month, probably as predicted by most of you :o.
Holiday next week is now cancelled as Father in law is now very ill in hospital in Chelmsford. Have to have a few days out locally instead so we can 'be around'.

    xx

Oh Andy , I am so sorry to hear your news. Sending you and your lovely wife lots of (((hugs)).

Please try and stay on the low alch stuff as you and I both know that drinking to excess at times like this is never a good thing and your lovely wife needs you to be strong for her . I have every faith in you.

I hope you manage to have a few nice days with the kiddies.

    Thinking of you.

All I know is that I personally would find it harder to dip in and out of drinking and I suppose I am a little bit envious of those who can live it on a day to day basis.

What was that recipe for non-alch Pimms ( lemonade & balsamic ??) and was it nice. I fancy giving it a try.

Morning all, nice to see lots of familiar faces on here today :D I am still on 8 days Jo, ended up sharing a bottle of wine with dh last night, no excuses really, it was just there and we fancied it :o I am a bit disapointed with myself but am holding on to the positives which are that half a bottle is a lot less than I would have had in the past and also we didn't open it till the kids were all asleep (one of my biggest problems was opening wine at 6 oclock then once started all routines went out of the window...I also don't want them to grow up thinking that drink at the end of the day every day is the norm...

BHB have you not tried the non alcoholic beers, as I mentioned before dh likes the cobra ones and if he is having an af night he says he actually feels like he has had a drink....might be worth a go....sorry to hear about your fil, hugs to you and Mrs BHB ..

Fay - It sounds like a nightmare for you at the moment, keep on giving yourself lots of 'me' time (af me time though) and stay strong against these nasty people, you have worked hard to get where you are, don't let small minded people take that away from you - hope you have a lovely day with Darwin :p

Kids are all better now, just in time to make my life as difficult as possible for the next 7 weeks  this morning I was getting ready when I heard something spraying, went to see what was happening and dd2 was spraying dd2s legs with shower cleaner  they really are a handful and to be honest most people I know say they would drive them to drink  but they are gorgeous too :p

What are everyones holiday plans? we are off to my Mums for a week next Friday and they are all big drinkers, I am determined though to have some af days whilst I am there....my main holiday is at the end of August to France for 2 weeks including 2 nights at Disney :j....

    Morning all,

Sorry I have been a bit quiet the last few days but unfortunately I have been unwell . There was actually a point where we thought I might have swine flu (it is doing the rounds at our school) but I think it is just a normal summer cold virusry type thing.

I am feeling a bit better today but unfortunately I am off to see the hygenist:eek::eek::eek::eek:. You have probably gathered that I hate going there. For me it is up there with smear tests (sorry guys) and childbirth ( well not quite:rotfl:) .

    Have a lovely day everyone.

It wasn't easy at first, but now it is a doddle - honestly

:hello: 'morning all. I'm with Fluffy on this one but I haven't got to the doddling stage quite yet.

Admittedly it has got easier over the months on AF nights but I still miss it and feel disappointed. I find the easiest way to cope is to do AF activities (like dancing or yoga or climbing walls ) that keep you busy but then you don't get much downtime. It reminds me of people who give up smoking and used to relax with a ciggy after a meal but now they leap up to clear away/wash up etc. I only work part time these days so I'm enjoying social invitations mid-week but 'ordinary' nights in is a no-no for me. I have to fight with myself but I'm winning!! (mostly).

BHB I do so understand your 's*d it' feelings, it must be so depressing to not have your holiday to look forward to plus all the travel to FIL. If I were you I'd come up with a plan for the 6 weeks (or 5. something weeks) holiday and then treat September as a further opportunity for a new year's start.

    Have a good day everyone.

P.S. Well done Jo on keeping us up-to-date
