I love the biodiveristy on the thread
- we is all different
Went to the supermarket late last night with the explicit intention of buying wine.
No brains me.
Anyway did the whole conversation brain wrestle thing (sure I look like a deranged female Jim Carey when I do it).
Common sense prevailed - came away with 6 loaves of reduced bread and some meat and a packet of snackajacks.
So.............................10 days for me Jo - will be locking purse at work tonight again (how dull is that AGAIN) and going to yoga with my french student with only enough money to pay for entrance.
Waves to you all - hey Jo hope the computer is behaving. How's the garden getting on.
We've been on school holidays since June 26th.............
PS BB work sucks at the moment but is getting a bit clearer - my bosses don't want me here - but are at least giving direction and leaving me to it - I am re-evaluating things. I want to be a Dr Flowers (why don't ask me I dont know) and I like my work - so for now I am plodding with field work, dealing with the daily confrontation from one member of staff who is trying to give away my private consultancy contracts because I am dyslexic (don't get me started - I am standing firm) and taking some legal/professional and disability advice cos its not an area I know well - sorry - brain dump will remain on track now.
On a positive note I had a lovely bath last night whilst reading 1001 ways to feel good about yourself or whatever hte book is called that you sent - I am on the 'work/life balance bit' - thanks so much for the lovely prize - I see it everyday and it reminds me of an AF lifeTotal debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Morning all!
Jo - glad to see you are working again (well not YOU personally, but you know what I mean !:rotfl:)
BHB -. Just doing that before Molly gets there! Switching to a low alcohol variety is a good idea. Can't stand lambruscos etc myself but am sure theres a dry version somewhere.
Budgie - **waves** Hope you're busy evening wasn't too bad.
Fay - (hugs)) to you today. As I've said before, stay strong. You know we are here when and if you need us.
Fluffyb - the weekday non-drinking is such a good idea. I never used to drink in the week but in the last few years I started drinking in the week more and more. And once you start that its hard to stop. So well done you.
69chick - you are fairly quiet the last couple of days. Those kiddies keeping you on the move no doubt!
14 for me please Jo !
Busy morning. Got to pop to Mums as its her and Dads anniversary. Forgot to take the card yesterday so have to go today. Then Piglet off to nursery this PM so I will be cleaning when he's out of the way. Oh the excitement!:rotfl:
OH asked me last night if I wanted a couple of bottles of pear cider the weekend! When a couple of weeks ago I said I wasn't drinking anymore I wonder what he thought I meant!? I explained quite patiently last night. Bless him.
Anyway, must be off. **Waves** to everyone!!!

Will still try and keep it down low anyway, but it would be nice, as Fay said, not to be thinking about it all day again!

Morning BHB...Like the new Avi....really looks like you;):D
Sorry to hear about FIL.Hope he recovers soon.
Re..fizzy stuff..as Fay says maybe try something AF like Shloer. There are lots of different AF pressees(SP) etc in our Asda.Served in a nice wine glass they look like wine and it might cheat your brain into thinking its alcohol.:rotfl:Some are really nice....although you can't beat ginger beer or Lime with sparkly water.
Have a nice day

Proud to be dealing with my debts at last :j0 -
It wasn't easy at first, but now it is a doddle - honestly
Your post summed up the theory of what I've been aiming for but in practice I only have to look at the gold stars on the calendar (yes, literally) to see that I haven't got to the doddle stage yet.
This week has been fun but I'm still on 5 so far. My excuses seemed plausible at the time but the day after look more like day had a y in it kind of ones. At least yesterday was about 500ml wine whereas the day before was 3 pints cider and then wine after which left me hungover and bad stomach effects that I will spare you all tmi about.
Fluffy, it's good to know that the theory is sound, even if I can't make it work for me at the mo.

The way I manage cutting down is to be really strict with my days.
I'm not sure that will actually happen during the six weeks school hols, much easier when working normally. But will have a try
Fay ... Raspberry StuffWos that then .... sounds nice

I think it is a good idea BHB to have something lower alcohol if you are drinking. It makes sense.
I agree with you Bismarck about us all being equal here, no one is better than anyone else, we are all working on ourselves and that is the most important thing.
I am feeling a lot better about my drinking since I made a few changes. I keep thinking how many times I have read weightloss tips saying if you can't stick to one packet of crisps don't buy multipacks to keep them in the house etc but I never really thought of applying that tip to drinking. It makes it so much easier for me now if I only have three beers in the fridge to stick to that amount! When I used to have bottles of wine and beer in my kitchen I would just try and plough through as much as I could and feel really bad the next day and tell myself that I had no willpower. It makes it much easier taking the option of relying on my willpower out of my hands. I have no willpower once I start drinking anyway so it was silly to rely on my drunk self to monitor my drinking habits.:rotfl:
I hope everyone is okay.:AHOUSE MOVE FUND £16,000/ £19,000

I also have the next 6 weeks off bhbI will be going away here and there and plan on drinking on holiday. So no, it won't be easy and not a good time to give it a go. If you want to try cutting out mid week drinking it really does work but I would strongly suggest you wait until September because I know exactly where you are coming from there. Try it in September after the hols are over
