  • Had a bit of a nightmare today, very stressful, so just venting really.

My car.....the tow car for our caravan had a problem. So I booked it into the garage to get checked over. It's only an '05 plate and I just replaced the alternator 3 months ago (£360!!!). The garage informed me this morning that its a turbo issue and would cost £500 pounds to fix

After much deliberation we decided to trade in other halfs car for a car suitable to tow a caravan and I'll get rid of mine some time soon to a small car. Thinking Corsa or something. But this all delays our holiday  Managed to get a deal on a Freelander '04 plate but might be Monday until we get it.

Long day. Too many decision. Too much money spent. Stress!!!!!!!......Wine :p
    Need to start again :o

    Hi FH,

DD reading over my shoulder...!!! can't go into detail as police are involved but could really do without additional stress...

FH Oh what a day..makes mine with ill kiddies look a breeze! think you need that holiday, hope it's nice and relaxing for you x

FUAS good luck on the job front and keeep thinking positive, got everything crossed for you x

BHB Please don't leave us, you would be missed so much, how are you doing? are you managing on moderate or are you finding its creeping up (if you don't mind me asking)

GC very wise words and that is now what I try to do (take each day) but it I find it harder than I would think it would be  ...one good thing is to think like I have today, that the wine in the fridge will be there for me tomorrow if I want it which will be nicer than drinking on a Thursday...

Maman :rotfl:your story in H&B I reckon a lot of the population think that anyone with any alcohol issue is automatically someone who hides vodka in the toilet cysten!! think I might try to get some of that kudzu to see if it helps a bit with the bells...

WBF If you went to the pub after all tonight hope enjoyed itwhether or not you decided to drink.

Am sky plus ing Torchwood, anyone watching it  just wondering if its any good ;)

I know you are out on your mystery evening out Budgie ;), but hope things are looking up for you...

YM glad you are still posting x

Jo Hope you get a good nights sleep tonight ready for another busy day no doubt....

Hoping myself to get some sleep tonight, ds is asleep but dd1 is still awake, think she may still be off tomorrow, but ds does actually want to go to school as he gets his report tomorrow...he is only 7 but I bet he won't be as much in a rush to get his report in a few years time lol.

Yes - I am watching Torchwood :D I'd never watched it before but apparently it has had really good viewing figures now it is on BBC1. I am really enjoying it - it's just finished for tonight and you will need a tissue or ten  I never knew it was an anagram of Doctor Who  DOH!!!! :rotfl::rotfl:

GC - wise words as always, and those are the ones that I really must repeat to myself daily. Well done on the stopping smoking by the way. I stopped in 1991 having smoked 20 a day for over 10 years, stopping was the best thing I ever did, though I increased my drinking - instead of puff, drink, puff, drink, it was drink, drink, drink, drink:o - not a pretty sight at the time. Also put on masses of weight, but it was worth it, gave myself a year then went on a diet. Anyway, well done.

    Thanks.

You stopping smoking is an amazing achievement, and I bet you thought it would be impossible.
Have that same resolve with alcohol and you'll do great

Well I seem to have got my head back around to the Lardloss way of life again.

Fast food has largely gone out of the window,
Eating largely veggie meals, with the odd bit of lean meat now and again,
Alcohol is down to weekends, and I'm happy with that(*),
Doing a few pushups / sit ups at home in the mornings before work,
    and...

    I LOVE MY BIKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't get enough of it!!!!

Tonight I biked it from my house to Stockport (about 7 miles) with a 60 metre climbing rope in my rucksack, had a couple of hours at the climbing wall, and then biked it back again.

Biked 25 miles at the weekend, and I'm biking to work every day.

Was floating between 19 stone / 18 stone 12 at the end of last week, and this morning I was 18 stone 7.

I absolutely love my bike, and I think it's a real shame that getting squished by I car 20 years ago while I was out riding put me off getting another one until recently.

Go me. I climbed this wall tonight:

(* - except for tonight. I rewarded the 15 mile fully laden bike trip and 2 hours of climbing with a few beers...for which I refuse to apologise :) )

:hello:Sorry to hear some of you have been having stressy days with children sick cars, and work problems. I know we've said it before but, like diets, don't give up because of a lapse. Hope those of you drinking enjoyed tonight and then just start again working towards your target or just a day at a time whatever suits. We've all proved it's possible.

BHB, I'll confess now I did worry when you started on your controlled drinking. Me, I'm an all or nothing kind of person. If I'm drinking I hate to be restricted, it spoils it for me, although I am (since joining this thread) a bit disgusted with myself when I open the second bottle. So AF days work for me because to cut down by just having a glass a night would just be miserable. I know some people can, my OH is one of them, just has a couple of beers every night. Are you finding the number of drinks/drinking days creeping up? Don't mean to be nosy/lecturing just worried about you. You've been such a star.

Quite a few people missing, hope you're having a good time wherever you are???

4AF for me please Jo (no hurry to paste it up, I won't forget!!)
