Shame we don't have a full moon every night!!
BHB I had visions of you leaping from log to log like the Canadians do. He cuts down trees, he wears high heels ..... Shame it was only a typo.
Ava, I wouldn't get too stressed about AF days when you have your visitors if you're a cutter-down. Try to have AF days whenever you have a break between guests and then play catch-up when they've gone. My 'rule' is no drinking on ordinary nights in as I'm sure they outweigh the holidays/guests etc over the year.
I haven't been AF today. Briefly, it was my next-door-neigbour's funeral. We weren't emotionally close and he had been in a nursing home for the past 7 years. OH and I went to church service (full requiem mass, never been to Catholic funeral before) and then family were very insistent that we went on to celebration at local hotel. Glad that we did as it was lovely to talk to his family and remember things that he did before strokes/dementia set in. Unfortunately, strong drink was taken.
AF tomorrow, definitely.
Lots of virtual friends missing tonight. Please just post to say you're OK (even if not AF).

Morning all
Feels like an age since I been on here, haven't even read the posts for the last couple of days, just skimmed them yesterday for the number so apologies if there's any mistakes.
It's been totally manic here, leading up to summer hols at school, looks like I'm going to have to work for the first week of the hols, great on the money front though as we have a new head he won't sign my extra hours claim form till we come back in September then I should get the money just before DS's birthday in November, so that'll pay for that
Madonna was great, her costume changes were far too long though. She'd get all the crowd up singing and dancing then booger off for 10 minutes to get changed, by the time she came back on everyone had sat down again!! The MJ tribute was only 2 minutes long albeit amazing, the guy dancing like him was fantastic, the place erupted and when he stopped and she continued singing her song it all went quiet! Had to get one of those Thames Clippers there as the Jubilee line wasn't working, that was fantastic!! Got very very drunk, was very very ill on Monday and haven't been much better since. My plan of only drinking last Sun and then this Fri has gone completely out the window. If I drink tomorrow then I'm very close to missing my target
Everyone's doing great, hopefully I might be able to log on properly at work and catch up with you all and actually read the posts

Morning all!
Jo - Madonna sounded good. Have to admit to being a bit of a concert "virgin". Only ever been to three. Twice to see Erasure (they were amazing) and was dragged to see the first X Factor tour in Birmingham. That one alone was enough to put me off concerts for life. Makes note to self...must see if Erasure are playing again soon...then I can dig out my pink sparkly cowboy hat!:D With regards to running out of AF days this month...why not follow GC's advice. Just tell yourself you are not drinking today. Then deal with tomorrow when it comes.
69Chick - well done on resisting the cava! Hope the littlies gave you a good night and are a bit perkier today.
Still no bells for me which I'm eternally grateful for. Tomorrow will be the test. Fridays are busy as I do my Mrs Mop job and its also "kids" weekend (we have OH's kids every other weekend). He is taking his daughter shopping as its her birthday next week. And his boy is going snow-boarding Sunday. So they are both bound to be hyper excited. Thats normally enough to drive me headlong into the wine aisle at the supermarket. I will have my soda and lime chilling in the fridge waiting for me and will avoid all supermarkets!
This morning my Mum is making a birthday cake for my stepdaughter. I'm going there this afternoon to help decorate it. I'm not the best at these things so may leave bulk of the work to my mum:rotfl:
Have good days all!

Morning all, not much better here on the ill kids front, ds and dd1 both off today, both had terrible nights (as well as me obviously) I was meant to be working today which I quite like as well...never mind, just hope they are better soon...
both my dd's are meant to have their mmr jab tomorrow (which they should have had a 1 but are now over 3 ) don't know what to do now if dd is ill
Glad you enjoyed Madonna with your friend Jo just jump back on that wagon and like Miss P said, one day at a time - don't go along with the thinking that you might as well tonight as you will be tomorrow, even 1 af day is an achivement hun...hope you have a good day at work and thanks again for doing the scoring xx
The only thing I am disapointed with having a lot less drinking days is that I seem to be putting on a bit of weight rather than losing a few pounds like I had hopedI know I am not being great food wise, but without the wine and the muchies I thought I might see a few pounds go...think I need to keep a food diary - on the plus side though my skin definitely looks better in a less grey sort of way

Gave in big time to the Wine bells last night. OH had started without me and I couldn't resist. Onward and upward.
Have a good day everyone.0 -
8AF for me please Jo - and thank you again for keeping the scores, with such a busy life it can't be easy.
Miss Piggy - I'm absolutely there with you re Erasure - I absolutely love them and am very envious that you've seen them live. Whenever I hear them I just have to do a little boogy and they just make me smile.
PIR - Hope the weather is good for Wakestock this weekend, though the Lleyn Peninsula is not exactly reknowned for glorious sunshine! I grew up in that part of the world and its such a shame that Wakestock didn't exist then - I'd have had such fun.
T2GU - thanks for reminding me about cranberry juice - I love it diluted with fizzy water. I usually get Mr T's No Added Sugar one - and add lots of ice - yummy.
69Chick - I'm finding the same re the weight. I don't think I'm eating more, and if I am then its mostly healthy stuff (yogurt, fruit etc), but the scales are creeping up. Perhaps its the lack of dehydration in the morning!!! Mustn't let it get out of hand - its just so easy to tell myself that I deserve a treat just becase I've not had a drink.
WBF - Good luck today - do you find it reasonably easy not to drink next day after giving in the night before?
Hope everyone has a great day - and those with ill little ones, hope they all feel better soon.July AFD target 8 actual 110 -
Afternoon all,
Hope you don't mind, I won't be updating the numbers today as work is just stupid and I haven't got the time to scan the posts properly. I will have more time later this evening hopefully (after parents evening, it's all go here!). Had a PTFA meeting last night, got the do to go to tomorrow night, it seems like I'm never in the house! Plus at work we are organising the do (well, just me and my office manager so it seems), I've got to go out tonight to buy the booze tonight  no excuse to ignore the the beer aisle.
I hope everyone's wellgot no idea as I've not read the posts for a couple of days. :grouphug: to those in need and :j for those that have been good :A

Thanks Maman - good idea, I will definitely try to do the same. I'm just worrying that having got the taste for it again, I'll find it difficult to go back to AFDs. Must keep reminding myself 'day at a time', stop thinking about tomorrow or the next day, deal with that when it happens. Maybe I'll print out a big notice to that effect and put it up somewhere that I'll see it often.
Still not sure yet whether to have a glass tonight when friends are over for supper - I'll decide later ... again, a little nervous that if I have one then I'll have six and regret it tomorrow. Note to self: must buy the kudzu.July AFD target 8 actual 110 -

I know people that have children with Autism and Aspergers and they say the same thing. One boy I know is obsessed with Star Trek and he can recite lines perfectly from memory.
What do you call a dinosaur with no eyes?

WBF - Good luck today - do you find it reasonably easy not to drink next day after giving in the night before?
Hi Ava,
Thanks for the good luck, think I need it today as I was sober enough to put the vacuvin in the half bottle of wine left last night and so expect it to be calling me later.
I used to drink quite often the day after, as I felt carp until some hair of the dog. Some Sundays that might be lunchtime, but more usually in the evening.
This is going to be a tough one today as I was finding it ok Mon and Tue and then broke the monday to thursday rule yesterday which makes it easier to break the no drinking thursday rule tonight if that makes sense. Plus there is a chance I am going to the pub tonight which I do find difficult sober although have done a few times over the last few months.
Also I did have 2 'spare' weekdays this month to drink on as there are 18 Monday to Thursdays this month and my target is 16.
I will try to find some motivation from somewhere...
YOu've doing really well, keep up the good work!0
