Morning all, have managed to get my twins to nursery today, despite one of them having a bit of a temp this morning :o I have got my first meeting (which was delayed due to the other twin being ill last week) with Age Concern in about an hour  going to meet the team and do a bit of training I think...interestingly I have been reading up on dementia (as that is the area I will be volunteering in) and have noticed that excess alcohol is seen as a factor in getting it later in life....and it said that alcohol does damage the brain - I had never thought about that, only about how it affects the liver and general health....

Good luck with the interview 69Chick. Hope little one gets better soon.
I think want you are doing is brilliant :A

    Have a good day (((hugs))

please pop in soon BHB / Lurkio / Winebox etc...xx

    :hello: Good Morning :D

Only 2 AFD for me so far. Not gone mad - have been restrained ;)

Had a quiet weekend. Mrs BHB took the two little ones down to eldest daughters in West Sussux .... leaving me in charge of all the animals .

Was Ok though - had a quiet weekend, played quite a bit of guitar, had a couple of log walks and generally relaxed, so it was quite nice in a way.

Though I had to have one of the goats shot on Monday as it had a really bad reaction to the worming injection earlier. We gave it a few days to try and recover, but as we have seen this before and they just go down hill so had to put the poor thing out of its misery.

Can't wait for end of term to come - 6 weeks of non messy schools and youth club! No vandalised equipment at youth club and no 'strange objects' stuck down the loo's at school ..... Oh what an interesting life I lead. I have two weeks actaul holiday and 4 weeks 'leisurely' work :D

    Best Wishes

    BHB

Hiya, morning everyone, 2 AF days for me so far pleeeease!!
  • Just checking in to say Hi :hello:

Didn't manage AF yesterday, but I did do all my filing, so very, very pleased with myself. You know the sort of thing that piles up on your kitchen work top, statements and stuff, I just couldn't stand looking at it anymore.

I once read up on flylady and they used to go and on about hotspots. Well, a little corner of the kitchen is mine and now and again I have to clear it or I go mad :rotfl:

I've got a busy day at work today and a few handovers to do because I'm on holiday for 2 weeks from tonight :D Thank goodness. I could really do with the break and it will be great not having to leave the boys three mornings a week. My 4 year old is so excited about our caravan trip. I just hope and pray that we don;t get rained on every day. A shower here and there is fine, but proper rain is a nightmare. You end up having to go find things to do which equals spending money!
    Need to start again :o

Some really positive stuff on here tonight. Has the rain stopped the wine bells? Well done all who've managed an AF day (including me!):T

I wonder if that is what it is, the hot, sunny weather might have been a trigger. I am AF today and I honestly don't feel like drinking today. Strange!:D 3rd day for me today.

7 AF for me please Jo - thanks. I can't quite believe I've done a week already. My first day seems so long ago - that nervous apprehension I felt about how the day would pan out. However, we've got friends over for supper tomorrow evening and from Saturday onwards we have a variety of friends coming to stay over a period of about 3 weeks. So I don't know whether I'll be able to have any AF days or whether my resolve will weaken. I'll just have to see and take each day as it comes. Hopefully if I do drink then it will be controlled drinking.

It was interesting that so many people didn't have wine bells yesterday - it was the same for me. Now I'm not a wacky sort of person, but whenever something like this happens, lots of people feeling angry, lots of people feeling sad, lots of people having the same emotion - then I tend to check my diary - and more often than not there is a moon phase involved. Yesterday was full moon ... I've absolutely no idea whether it has anything to do with the lack of wine bells - but it is interesting.

    Afternoon all!

69chick - good luck for today and I hope little one was ok at nursery.

Foreverhopeful - lets hope you have some good weather. I've done a caravan holiday in the wet and it was NOT pleasant (mind you, it was October, Blackpool and the in-laws were there:eek:)

BHB - good to see you back. Can I ask though why have you been walking logs!?:rotfl:

    6 for me please jo!

I think I'm lucky in that I haven't had any bells ringing yet. Perhaps it is the weather, or the moon. Whatever it is, I'm grateful. I'm sure I'll hit a day when I would normally cave in and get a bottle of wine. I will NOT cave in though. Can't afford to. When I get tempted I shall just think of how upset my OH was the other night. That should keep me on track. PLus I've just spent so much on bottles of soda, lime, cherryade etc that I can't AFFORD alcohol!!

Had a proud mummy moment today. In sainsburys an elderly couple made a point of telling me how lovely it was to see such a polite little boy (he had said please, thankyou and bye-bye to everyone at the checkout!). Made my heart swell with pride. Didn't like to tell them he isn't always like that :rotfl::rotfl:

Hope everyone is having a good day!

    Miss P
    xx

    Hi

Thanks MissP and 40sm it went well this morning, met a few people on the team and handed in my CRB forms, really glad I managed to get there...

Got home at around 12 and nursery called at 12.15 regarding dd, she has a temp and is asking for mummy :o anyways she is now having a lie down on the sofa all calpoled up, only prob is I had to take dd2 as well as she wouldn't stay so I have the usual hurly burly of her to deal with...

Jo is everything ok with you? you are unusually quiet hun xx

BHB I didn't notice the 'log walks' :rotfl:sounds like you had a nice weekend though all to yourself (and various animals) shame about your goat  I bed Mrs BHB was sad..

Interesting thought about the moon Avanother, might have to look into that, maybe keep a 'wine bells' diary
