    Morning
A question, these full nights of sleep are certainly of great benefit feeling very energised, however when I wake up it takes me longer than usual to realise what day it is. Almost a few minutes of confusion. Or am I just getting old ?

    Morning everyone

Welcome to Sparky and Nutty. Great to see some new faces:D (and old ones too which reminds me..... Lurkio:D)

Winebox please keep posting, you would be sadly missed if you don't

Budgie, thanks for the concern I seem to have recaught the cold I had a couple of weeks ago and I am back feeling dreadful again. Don't really understand it as I am eating better and have really cut down my alcohol:confused: Anyway sorry to be a misery but I feel like I have the Brighouse and Rastic Brass Band doing a rendition of the Floral Dance in my head. Anyway hun hope you managed to get some sleep and if you need to take the sleeping tabs then make sure you do.

So I am on 3 please and hope you all have a better day than me:o

Well, I've gone from being a lurker to a mad poster!!! Thank you all for your kind words, done in my usual bottle of wine tonight (And I am being nice to myself there as its been getting on for one and a half :-( Has anyone done the Allen Carr method?? Got the book and read it twice and almost seems to work, the thing I hate most in life is celery and am planning on reading the book, its only small and 'savouring' a big glass of wine with 6 sticks inside the glass (EEEK!!) Will this work or am I just trying to kid myself??

    Thank you. J x

    Morning All,

Nuttytart....Right back at the start of thread one ...I started my journey by reading Allen Carrs 'No More Hangovers'.....I swear his method worked for me.I call that book my little bible. It is in my bedside table drawer now and I quite often flip through it just to remind myself.....His ideas dont gel with everyone but they did for me......Give it a go......you never know.:D
With the help of Allen Carr and this thread you may well soon be alcohol free (or are you just trying to cut down?)

Different Corner......I too had this waking up problem....still do sometimes....I just think that you are probably sleeping at a deeper level without Alcohol and so take longer to come to.

Well done Jo.So sorry you are still poorly.Yesterday when I said about the anti-b's I meant as Miss Piggy says...were they reacting with alcohol in you?....Maybe worth another go.

    :jWell done LURKY:T:T:j

Well done to everyone else giving up/cutting down.

    Love Mollypollyxxxx

    Just getting old!:rotfl::rotfl:

I'm the same....usually by lunch-time I've remembered what day it is (But then I DO have a three year old and that does have a detrimental effect on your braincells!!!!!):rotfl::rotfl:

    Morning peeps :D

    Welcome Sparky :D

Nuttytart, I think some people here have used Alan Carrs book - I haven't myself so can't help you there, but I think others can :D

This is my third month of cutting out drinking during the week [4 nights] from drinking every day and every morning since starting to cut down I have woken up with a headache on the mornings after I haven't had a drink!! On the nights I drink I wake up fine the next day  It's like a hangover in reverse  Does anyone else suffer headaches when they DON'T drink?????? Or is it just me that's back to front :rotfl::rotfl:

    :rotfl:

    Hi fluffy

I also get headaches when I have not been drinking .Its probably withdrawal symptoms or something :rotfl:

    Morning all

BB - please put me down for another AFD ( now 6 In total)

The haircut was a success. I like it ,DH &DSs like it too:j . 5yr old said "mummy I am glad you did not get it too cutted - I thought you might come home with my haircut and then people would think you were me.:o

Oh if only it was that easy to look younger:rotfl:

Something strange is happening to me . Last night a had some non-alcohol wine . I checked the bottle at least 3 times to check there was 0% alcohol. My thinking being " if I am going to lose this challenge its gonna be to A 12 % bottle and not a piddly 1%).. Anyway the wine was O% so that was ok. Tasted okish - A bit like chardonnay thats been open for a week without the cork in ( Not that I know what that tastes like !)

Anyway , so far so good - or so I thought . Later in the evening i started to feel guilty - although I did not have alcohol i did not choose a soft drink I wanted the substitute . I was beating myself up because my mind still wanted the wine .

I don't know if any of you understand my thought processes here - I am rambling a bit . So I am sticking to soft drinks from now on and not alcohol substitutes as I need to cut the links with alcohol if I am to succeed.

Sorry everyone. Wakey Wakey . I Know what I mean

Anyway I still should still pat myself on the back for another AFD.:j:j

Have a great day everyone . God is that the time - I should be at work.

Hi all- Jo hope you are starting to get better, 12days is a long time to struggle. Welcome new people and hello to everyone.

Fluffy- your son's experience sounds dreadful, what an awful time for you and your family, it must have been hell.

I'm not feeling as startled as I was yesterday about being breathalized in front of all my neighbours and the local shop- I keep reminding myself of the smug look on the officers face being wiped off when he had to say, 'your reading is zero' and I said 'I know'.

Hope you are OK WB, don't be a stranger here, come back when you are ready.

Thanks to Budgie, stirling job- good luck today everyone.

That's me on a normal day :rotfl:

Miss P and MP, oh I see what you mean about the reaction with the alcohol :o (and there was me spurting off the entire story :rotfl:).

Both the pharmacist and my GP confirmed that his was a classic side affect and they didn't agree with me, said not to take anymore, I'm just gonna be big and brave :D
