Fay sorry that I said earlier about having a drink when you are visiting your pals
If you are trying to stay af then your friends really should be supportive of you in your choice.... I know how hard it is though as I am the same if wine is in the house....I used to buy it by the case and it was scary how quickly it used to be gone. Stay strong Fay if you can do it this time, it will make it easier next time and so on.....take something else along that you can 'spoil' yourself with like some nice food (i know you don't like choklit but something else)...I find reading magazines helps, I love the ones about health and fitness, they seem to inspire me to be healthy.....
JO..did you manage to do your application?

Whilst I love my PJ's - I think perhaps you may be right
.
I am really panicking and I know this is stupid about seeing my friends - I love them all but they are all really heavy drinkers and just dont understand.
I may have to be 'SICK'. ie on anti-biotics in their eyes.
Prob is - the alcohol in the houses -:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
God I sound like a baby. I just don't think I am THAT strong yet.
This is your recovery, not theirs. If they don't understand, or try to understand, that's their problem, not yours.
You don't have to give a reason - it's your decision not to drink and you don't have to justify it to anyone.
If you want to give a reason, be honest, and say you think you drink too much, and are trying to cut down, and if they would support you in this, that would be very helpful. If they put pressure on you to drink, that says more about them and their relationship with alcohol than it does about you.
You make the decision to drink, not them. They will not force it down your throat. Make sure you are not using this as an excuse to drink - you are responsible for your own feelings and actions.0 -

Cheers guys
How is it that you lot understand and they don't??
GC I know they can't pour it down my throat. Comments on the phone tonight of 'Well you will be drinking when you are here and not being all prissy'. Do make me wonder though - what's it about other folks hang ups that makes them do like you said Jo taunt you and tease you and shove things in your face.
I guess instead of getting all beholden (Like I would be normally) its just made me bluddy cross. F' em. If I don't want to drink then I wont.
GC wasn't looking for an excuse was more about pressure and expectations honest guv, ta for the words. I know what makes me weak and I know when I am vulnerable, having alcohol in the house I guess I need to deal with - I can go to a pub and order a soft drink - so just need to say um no ta to the vino-collapso
Decision has been made, NO drinking - I wont be told I can't do something (ie not drink) by people who are supposed to love me - what a bunch eh????
Hugs chaps

GC I do see where you are coming from about an excuse (not in Fays case) my Mum always has wine in the house and because I don't live nearby it is sort of a given that I will drink every night when I am there, which I think makes my mum feel better about it as she feels like its holidays if we are staying :rotfl:.. also I can tell how much better he feels sitting there drinking if I am joining her...so I do sort of use it as an excuse really.....am visiting with the kids in July for a week  and I am really hoping that things can be different this time as I usually come back feeling really cream crackered...
10 af days for me now 40sm... was so disapointed with myself having 4drinking days on the trot and missing my target but actually seeing 10 out of 17 days af is still amazing for me considering I have probably only done 2 or 3 a month for years...Thanks guys :T for all your support...(and sorry I write waffly posts)
PIR glad some of the exam stress is over for you, hope things have settled down now at home xxx
Miss P What a lovely mum you have and what a great idea.....I have got my slimming world stuff out and am going to try next week to use some of the plan and recipes as I am concerned how much I snack all day long (and still find time for 3 meals a day !!) I don't need to lose loads of weight, just a few pounds I spose and a bit of a tone up, but I am definitely in need of reigning my eating habits in....I just had a cup of tea with 3 jaffa cakes and 2 chunks of malt loaf  and I only had a big plateful of spag bol an hour or so ago (followed by a choc mousse)
I was thinking about the weeks where it is harder than others to ignore the wine bells, I am starting to wonder whether with me there might be a hormonal link, like how I can be with chocolate (sorry guys) I think I am going to start keeping a diary to see if there is any pattern....Jun GC £250.00/£12.40 NSD 3 / 30

Evening,
Just a quickie to say - Fedup - thinking about you and wondering how your evening's going. Hope you're ok.

Evening i know it's been a while. I think that i've got about 50 pages to read:eek:
On the good news front I've had 14AFD's:D Unfortunately the 3 drinking days have been binges with 1 when i made a complete pratt of myself:mad: and am still absolutely mortified with myself. but i do think that being on here i've defo cut down, I would have normally never have had so many AFD. I now know that I can't have alcohol in the house, i just drink it, i'm not a social drinker, i binge and once i've had 1 drink, i want the barrel!!!
Very bizzarely i woke up really early this morning, (me being a pratt has been playing on my mind alot) and decided to start a new book. so i've started noseying my way through the alcoholics anonymous book, it worked, i did fall back asleep.
I'd better start reading all the pages i'm behind, hope everyones well
maz
p.s. I really need to sort my signature out!:o0
