BHB, don’t wanna put a downer on things but I have to be honest, I’m really concerned about you at the moment. Are you sure it’s a good idea to drink again? I presume you’ve thought it through, just hope you didn’t have rose tinted glasses on. You have openly said you had a problem with drink previously, are you sure you’re over it? Sorry, don’t wanna do a preach’y thing but I know that I couldn’t do controlled drinking and I am in no way saying you have the same problem as me, I think I’m just saying, be careful :) xx

BHB...I'm with Jo on this. Please be careful.
We have seen you sneak off the wagon before ...and then fall flat on your face.
Like Jo I don't want to preach, but think carefully...without the rose tinted specs......CAN YOU CONTROL ALCOHOL or are you again letting it control you.

    Only thinking about you;)
    Take care

Hi Fay 40sm Lurky mp hopeful34 budgie and all

    Welcome foreverhopeful.

I've been backsliding somewhat....:o....hanging on in there though.

What I don't get is...the 5 days I had af at the start of the month...it wasn't a struggle...hardly heard a winebell all week....it was great to watch my favourite TV progs just the once & remember what happened (& not have to video it in case I fell asleep which I usually did) & I read 3 books & did loads & enjoyed myself! Not to mention the money saved & the lack of hangovers. You know what I'm going to say next don't you?...why don't I just carry on & do it every week? I don't get it.
  • Completely understand what you are saying peeps.

One last ditched attempt at 'being normal' for a month. If it does not work then I will be chasing MP quicker than she can say "gerraway ya ravin loony bhb"

  • Its good listening to this - I am away in July for a bit with chums etc and thinking OK I will do normal drinking for 10 days and then come back home and be on the wagon big styleeee. Odd that I am thinking this already - but all my chums are huge drinkers -- and I mean HUGE - so that combined with holiday - am a bit scared TBH - iron will is OK ish at home but away - ????

But a wee voice in my head is thinking - hmmmmmmmmm you think so?!?

    Good luck BHB - x

BHB it CAN be done ;) I am really really strict now with my not drinking on week nights even if the bells are a hollering, and drink only at weekends now and I stick to the recommended limits and then that is it. I didn't think I could do it, but it CAN be done. I find it easier to not allow myself to drink during the week and I do know my limits at the weekend.

If you can do it - that's fine, if you can't..........
  • I'm gonna give it until the schools break up and then review.
