thanks for your concerns...if anyone had asked me, it would have been hard to convince them that I wasn't hungover.....and yet....it really was scary - the pain, the retching the feeling that I'd just poisoned myself....so I'm mostly on tea now...and plenty of water....guess that we all know really that our bodes are amazing devices but they can only put up with so much...

    take care everyone

Thanks for this Bis.....it has brought back the memories of hangovers again.
I have been getting quite scared this last couple of weeks as the bells have been ringing madly all the time.....and I don't know why.
I know deep down that I wont/cant have a drink but still the 'wanting' is back.....WHY:confused::confused:
As you say our bodies can only put up with so much but mine seems to be saying ...i can cope with more now:mad:
Sorry for the ramblings folks......feel quite down about not having a drink now.....which is really silly after all this time.

    Constant vigilence as always.

    Morning all!

Feeling chuffed with myself for having the little bottle of wine last night and then NOT sending OH out for more!!:rotfl: Its the small things....

Yay Jo got a jumpy before 7am!!! Well done Jo!:rotfl:

Orchid - be a shame if you changed your user name - its lovely!

Mollypolly - ((hugs)). You are doing so fantastically well, and are such an inspiriation to us all.

Well a busy day again today. Got appointment with scary lady at doctors surgery today to see about trying their 12 week fat busting plan. NOT looking forward to that. And have to go to bank and go shopping for a small fathers day present for OH from Piglet. So don't know why I'm lurking on here!

    Have a good day all!

    Miss P

Prof Wbf alert and I haven't had enough caffeine yet so this may make no sense at all to anybody outside my head...

I know nothing about this stuff technically but your post made me wonder about our bodies and what is going on with them. Initially when I reduce or don't drink I feel very tired. Like tired to the bones and eyes tired that's not the same as pulling an all nighter or getting up to go to the airport early. A different kind of tired. I haven't gone without booze for long enough to get beyond this stage yet.

My current theory is that my body is diverting energy to fixing the damage my boozing has caused. Presumably my liver and other organs are needing extra supplies of energy or something.

So, Molly Polly, perhaps the fact your wine bells have returned is actually
a really good sign. Your body might have dealt with all the gloomy closets and junk rooms it has, and has now finished having a good old spring clean or equivalent and is kind of telling you, right this body is back to normal again and ready. Maybe if you keep going for a while ignoring the bells your body will realise that no more booze is coming to deal with and it will go out and enjoy the garden or something instead.

Just a thought that's occurred to me this morning, wish I knew more about the medical research on all this stuff.

Well done Maman, Jo and Miss Piggy too. Hope you're feeling better today BHB...

Mrs BHB and I have decided to not stop completely but to limit to 15 units a week for her and 20 for me, though think I may well just do 15 too. Will see how we go. Main thing is ... not every night after work!!

    Catch up later

BHB, don’t wanna put a downer on things but I have to be honest, I’m really concerned about you at the moment. Are you sure it’s a good idea to drink again? I presume you’ve thought it through, just hope you didn’t have rose tinted glasses on. You have openly said you had a problem with drink previously, are you sure you’re over it? Sorry, don’t wanna do a preach’y thing but I know that I couldn’t do controlled drinking and I am in no way saying you have the same problem as me, I think I’m just saying, be careful :) xx
