Evening all :hello:
Hope you are all well
Im sitting watch BGT, not as good as last nites show i dont think, and i hate those hand as phones signals that they all do at the end of their act, drives me crazzzzzy
Having another AF day ( 5 AF for me BB) this one was a struggle, as its day 3 of beinf AF the longest break for years i think.....i had a long day at work, 12 hours and the thing that kept me going was going home and having a large glass of wine, think if i get through tonite then i will have shown myself that i dont need to use alcohol as a crutch after a day at work. Planning to have a wee drinkypoo on wed night.
Anyway the break is over so back to the telly, just thought i would pop in to say hi

so so true....
It cannot be avoided for ever....I went into a pub last week and was fine and will go on a night out next week and drive...I know it will be a heavy session...but not for me....there is no one strong enough to make me drink and my defences are sound...but I still need to be watchful.
I have the ability to be my own worst enemy but also my own best friend.
take care everyone...good things aren't always easy!
On catching up, this post by BISMARCK stood out for me.On holiday I WAS my own best friend.Free alcohol for a whole week and I never touched a drop.I feel now that my defences are sound......although there must still be Constant Vigilence.
Thank you my friends....it feels good to be back amongst you all.

Welcome back Molly Polly. And well done on resisting free booze for the entire time - excellent defenses.
Well done Mackeroo and Glasgow Girl too.
Just to say you can chalk me up for another AFD today as I'm going to bed now. That's 9/12 for me now Budgie, thanks.
I am finding that the TV has a lot more yummy food and booze ads now that I'm watching sober whilst trying to lose a few pounds. Normally the booze haze must block the drinks out. I was also quite amused by the fact that I still fell asleep on the sofa afternoon and early evening even though I was sober! Still at least I didn't feel hungover when I woke up, just a bit dopy.
Sleep well everyone.0 -
Just logging on real quick to say hi to MP

Very good point, BHB. My projects rule my life while I'm doing them - just finished one which I've been working on day and night for over a week - yippeeeeeee :j Often wonder if it's worth it, but need/like the dosh. Off to the cinema and out for yummy meal with my beautiful 3 DDs tomorrow night - no wine cos I'll be driving :T
Fay - you'll feel so brilliant when you get your PhD - all the late nights, hassle and dealings with annoying 'academic' tutor will all be worth it. I did an MSc when I had two little ones - what a struggle that was - but I'm so pleased I did it, I had to do it for myself.
Another AFD for me, please lovely Budgie. BTW your son sounds to be doing really well, you must be so proud, pat yourself on the back. I hope my DDs manage to get fantastic degrees and jobs eventually where they can be happy - just get through all these blooming AS levels and so on first ....
