That sounds like a guilty response to me Budgie
Ok ok I will admit I have in the past been a little noseyonly problem is now I can't be as he lives miles away. It didn't go down very well when I was googling his tutors  well I had to know he was going to be ok.
Thing is he went on only one uni open day and it was not the one he ended up at. Three days before his ucas form had to be in he decided he might change his mind. To cut a long story short we drove the 4 and a half hour journey each way to visit the place and thats where he went. Loved it, got a first and so it goes to show you can do all the planing in the world but sometimes its just a leap of faith and alot of luck.
His uni are featuring him this year as one of their successful grads, they are skirting around the issue that he didn't attend even an open day or for that matter even saw inside the uni.
Its that lucky 13 again, works like a charm
But yes I am a nosey doting mother, but I am also very lovablexxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hi all- just read through some of the last few days posts and have to really thank hiphouse, GC, Bis, Budgie, Jo and Fay (and anyone else I've bound to have forgotten) for there honest and poignant posts. Alcoholism can be such a lonely experience, particularly when everyone goes away because you are such a hopeless cause, but I think what we all show is that there is hope, and I for one will never give up on you guys, and I thank you all for being there and supporting me and giving me a place where I can be honest without judgement or disapproval.
Hiphouse- I too, went to a 41 yr old schoolfriends funeral in Feb- he was an alcoholic and had spent the last 4 yrs of his life as a street drinker, homeless- we need to access this help, its out there.
Have a good day tommorrow everyone, well done on the challenge this month, huge targets reached- brilliant.0 -

There is hope.
And solidarity.
And determination.
And strength.
And a future.
Enjoy it. Be who you were born to be. Life's too short.
I've not been to an AA meeting for about a year now and still remember so many of the stories I related to... I didn't follow their plans too much, just worked out what had to be done. But I will clearly remember the references they made to those who had been to meetings and fallen at a later stage....
constant vigilance....
take care everyoneFor what I've done...I start again...And whatever pain may come ...Today this ends... I'm forgiving what I've done -AF since June 20070 -
No need to go THAT far!!!
:rotfl:I'm trying to replace alcohol addiction with sex addiction.
I was wondering if there was an AA type thing online. I think having more than one source of support wouldn't hurt.
I'm going to look later today after I go and get some tea and a bar of chocolate and have breakfast in bed.:EasterBun
16th day AF for me today.
Hope you are all okay.:AHOUSE MOVE FUND £16,000/ £19,000

Good morning everybody :hello:
Well, I had the wine I had planned to have last night as a treat with DH - half a bottle of cava and half a bottle of pinot grigio (approx 9 units). A lot by many people's standards, but I'm not feeling guilty about it - although I certainly do not feel as fit and alert as I have been doing in the mornings.
I hadn't had a drink since last Sat (0 units in one week), which was the longest AF period I have had for years and years and years. I am really starting to change my mindset and habits. This is completely due to being on this thread and taking part in this challenge - it is quite incredible. :T
I will definitely achieve my target for the month - 1 non-AFD left, which I might not even take - we'll see.
Thank you for all your honesty and help, this inner strength I am getting from you all is really wonderful. My DH is drinking less too.
Bi for now, I hope everyone has a lovely bank hol - except of course those in Scotland and other countries!!!!!! :jTotal AFD's May-December 2009: 178 ie 73% of total days (245 days)

Many people I know had rock bottoms that involved losing marriages, children, jobs, houses, and health.
All of those.
Not sure if I have mentioned it before, but I also had my driving licence suspended for 6 months. Not for any motoring offences, but for alcohol misuse.

Morning all,
Happy bank holiday (sorry Fay) I hope everyone's doing something really exciting! I've not long got up
:o these tablets certainly make me sleep heavier which is great as it's co-inciding with the booze quit as I'm usually up all night for the first week but it's day 5 today and as yet I've had no sleep problems except for the dreams
Weather looks dodgy down here, very dark and dismal which is a shame as I thought I'd get back out in the garden. I was getting very irritated when I got home yesterday afternoon/evening, very jittery. So I decided to take myself off to the garden to cut some brambles down and bag up, had to take it easy cos of the dizziness but I worked slowly for an hour and it certainly took the drink thoughts away. So hopefully the rain will hold off today so I can get out and do some more later.
Not feeling any health benefits to quitting yet and judging by what I see in the mirror, I'm not showing any either :rotfl:
Have a great day everyone!
