Annie, congrats on your 6 days, you have every reason to feel smug
and we are all very proud of you!
Welcome again Scotsman, as you say, alcohol is not affecting your work or home life and it may never will but once you get so far down the road that you can't turn back, that's when everything is affected. It's a great idea that you've decided to abstain for a little while to see how you feel. I hope you achieve whatever is it you want from the thread, whether it be cutting down or quitting. Keep posting
Welcome to the thread Kellylea and well done for being so honest and facing up to your situationThe problem you have is shared by probably half the people on this thread, we just can't stop, however good the intentions where before we started. Scotsman said "Do you smoke? If you didnt smoke and someone offered you a cigarette would you think anything of saying no?", which I think is a great way of looking at it. (Thanks for posting it SM as I think it's something useful to us all on here
). So maybe next time you go out, maybe use the old anti-biotic excuse, or if you drive maybe offer to drive or take the car and say you've got to get back a little bit earlier as you have an early start or just say you're detoxing for 30 days with some friends or something? Good luck and keep posting, don't feel down about what you did and said under the influence of alcohol, it's an evil drug that changes people beyond recognition. Good luck
SleepyJo, how are you feeling this morningx

Morning MP, enjoy the chicken and cake. I bought a pork joint thing from M&S yesterday crusted with breadcrumbs, lemon, garlic and stuff mmmmm, I'll probably get some asparagus and new potatoes to roast as they are right in season at the moment and amazing when crushed and roasted with olive oil and seasoning
Have a lovely day, the weather is beginning to look very dark and grey here now, but will cheer up later apparently (hopefully)

Taken from Wiki:
"Consumer warnings
Recommended daily dose: From age 12 to adult - one tablet daily.
Each Berocca tablet contains 285mg of sodium, which should be taken into account by those on a low sodium diet.
Berocca causes your urine to be deep yellow in colour but it is completely harmless. The colouring is due to the excess vitamin B12 being removed from the body through the urine.
Always dissolve the tablet in water."
Thanks for the warning Eselt     :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:DFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0 -
Just having a read through and Jo I know you mentioned milk thistle. I have been taking it for a while now after having apparantly done some damage to my liver from a prescription drug I took when I was a kid. Anyway I get mine from Boots as they are usually on 3 for 2

Thanks Nelski, I've just had a look at Tesco online and was wondering if they'll have it at my local branch today. Is this the one you take, or should I get tincture?DFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0

Jo - I usually get either boots own or Cynara but its the tablets for me not the tincture. Have you tried getting some from your GP on perscription? may work out cheaper that way and they could make sure you took enough. Have you had a liver function test? May be worth doing that first then you will be able to tell if its having a good effect.
annie - lucky lucky you. Its windy and cold herestandard bank holiday I guess

Morning everyone.
Im back and better
Tooth infection all cleared up.....though I didnt take the second lot of anti-biotics....did a bit of research into them and the write ups I found on them scared the living daylights:eek: out of me so went to see the pharmacist who told me the amoxicillin should do the trick for both infections I had. So yes I wimped out of taking them  but least im ok now.
Have been thinking about backing out of May challenge as I felt I was getting a little obsessed with every little drink I was having and felt rubbish that I couldnt seem to achieve target but on reflection im pleased i have been cutting down so much on days I have been drinking so im coming in with a new outlook on things.
Im going for a really simple 8 please budgie.
If I can have 2 AFD a week and cut down on the amount I drink on the days I do have one then thats good for me
Stroppy xx0
