i know its naughty but i weighed myself again this morning and i'm another lb down so i think my water retention must be disappearing. but now i will be good and not weigh till next week. Going to make oh hide the scales!
going away this evening to oh's sisters which will mean takeaway and drinks arrrgghhh!
i am considering taking a weight watchers meal with me and one of those mini bottles of wine cos if i open a full size one i will drink the lot. i know if i give in and eat and drink what i want then the whole weekend will follow suit and i will get to monday and feel so guilty so i am going to have to really discipline myself to stay on track.
Hope everyone has a good weekend i will check in on you all at some point. :D

Hi all. Didn't go to WW last night as had all my hair cut off!!! Everyone who's seen it says I look slimmer!! Bonus.
Weighed at home and have STS, but happy with that as started celebrations for my 40th (sunday) last weekend!

Those with totm, I know how you feel, pains are terrible. People who tell you exercise helps obviously don't suffer with BAD totm.
Dragon - hope things get better soon x.
My friend went to WW last night, her scales are always the same as WW. At home she lost 1½lb - at WW she put on ½lb! Apparantly she went mental! Told them what she thought of their scales! Wish I'd been there.
If their scales are out next week, again then we are cancelling and doing it ourselves. £20 per month, and the scales are never the same. Does anyone else notice anything like this?
Have a good weekend everyone, prob won't get on as having a pamper morning tomorrow, curtisey(sp) of my friend for my birthday and then Sunday out for carvery with family and friends for the big 40!!!!!!
    Take care Taffy x
Need to sort my life out! :T
  • Only 1200 calories per day though - so we'll see how I go! But in saying that, I had the yummiest lunch ever - so it's not proving too difficult so far!!

CWM - oooooh what did you have for lunch?

I am logging my calorie intake in calorie count as suggested on the first post in these challenges. It helps me focus so I'd recommend doing it although I am of course obsessing about it all too much as well!

Am also aiming for 1200 cals a day although most days, I do end up going slightly over this as frankly 1200 cals is basically air !

How are you finding it? What does Rosemary Connelly say to eat/do? I tend to have this sort of a diet on a daily basis:

Brekkie - oats so simple golden syrup (yum!) or rice krispies or weetabix with semi skimmed milk
Lunch - getting bored of salads now so have been eating soups and krispbread with dairylea light or toast with a bit of pate and cucumber (naughty I know but apparently only about 350-400 cals )
Dinner - veggies, stir-fried or in an omlette. Occasionally I'm having meat with salad or veggies and generally trying to avoid heavy carbs.

Though having said that, as I am also exercising a bit at last, I'm not too hard on myself.....! :o

    Cheers,
    ntl

Now i seem to be exercising a good amount i am starting to think about portion and calorie control. I feel like my diet is good but i'm not really sure how many calories i'm consuming because i'm not sure about my portion sizes and i really don't want to start weighing out food.
How does everyone here manage this?
i am interested in the 1200 calories a day think but have no idea how to make sure i don't go over without weighing or spending a fortune on ready meals

Hi Binky - I don't have any hard and fast way myself but I don't think I've had a ready meal for years. Generally speaking, I estimate how many grams or ml something is simply by becomming a little bit obsessed with reading packaging! And by entering this into calorie count, I get what I think is a fair answer. I may not get it 100% right all the time but I think I'm quite honest with myself and if I'm not sure I will weigh it and see for future reference, for eg I had some pasta a few weeks ago so I weighed out the dry amount, cooked it and then re-weighed it to see how it had changed. You'll be pleased to know that 125g of uncooked pasta became 200 and something grams when cooked and it was a BIG PORTION!

Also with portion control, I tend to pour myself a slightly smaller sized meal initially and then if I'm still hungry, I'll allow myself a small second. But mostly I find that actually being from a family where you ate what was on your plate or else, I don't really NEED seconds....

    Am I making sense?!

  • I'm in crazy post mood today - apologies All!

Binky - TOTM is mean and evil and you're doing really well to resist the urge to give in to your cravings. As for exercise, I tend to just try and walk a bit or go and do a class in which you have to keep up and therefore not think about your tummy/back for a bit. Hope it helps!

  • Happy birthday Taffy - sounds like a lovely weekend. Enjoy it. Loved the story of your friend and the WW scales - I weighed myself at home today and then also at the docs and definitely preferred my home scales telling me I'm down to 66kgs!

Dragon - sending you lots of love and hugs and hoping the external pain disappears soon.

Binky - take food with you I say, of late I've tried to make healthy choices with eating but it's the booze that always let's me down. So I'm trying to ensure I drive more when we're out and therefore of course, don't drink crazy amounts and have a kebab on the way home too!!

Everyone else - HELLO! Wishing everyone good losing weekends!

    Hugs,
    NTL

    Brilliant news poshstock!

Pain and suffering all round today - I am a Dragon with a sore jaw as I had a tooth out this morning (no alcohol for 24 hours!), no over hot or over cold food or drink - so I treated myself to a small pack of fruit pastilles
Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup :D
