19 is impressive. I hope some of mine reach that.
Are they indoor or outdoor cats?0 -
Hi Miroslav, I read your posting and just had to write to say I am so glad there are animal lovers in this world like yourself who put their pets needs first. I shed a few tears myself, as I lost my 3 elderly cats within 6 months of each other. My black female died 19/08/07 aged 18 and then I moved home in November and my male tabby of 14 decided to check out (I thought he was in shock with the move) but it was a diabetic coma which eventually killed him. My grey female of 18 was the last one to pass on 26 February 2008 with a tumour in her liver. I can honestly say I didn't know what a broken heart was until I lost my cats. I decided I would have no more cats as I couldn't go through losing them again, however in September 2008 we visited the cat protection league and I could not leave without taken one of the lovely cats in their protection (we already had a house inspection done). I must say it was really difficult with Lucy ,my new tortie as she was 6 years old and I didn't know her previous life but together we've become very close and this does take away some of the pain of losing my other furbabies .Like you I had them all cremated and the boxes sit on top of my wardrobe and my wish is for them to be placed with me when my time comes (which hopefully will be some time yet!) take care shrewdalx0

Oh my cats have always come first. I eat cheap food and rarely treat myself (you should see where I live, all my furniture is falling apart!), just so they can have the very best. They are my family and i've always looked after people and my cats. It means I have been used, but these cats have always appreciated everything.
I'm sorry about your 3 cats and I understand why you wanted no more, but also glad you gave in and made a new friend who needed love and affection.
It's nice you still have the boxes with the ashes and they have never left you. Having them with the person/people they know best, must give them alot of happiness when they look down.0 -
Aww you sound such a lovely person. I'm so sorry for your loss. I have my gorgeous dogs ashes still with me. Still got his mum and three old cats. One is ancient well over 25 but still going strong. To be honest don't know how cos she was left by previous owner years ago and was really a stray cos she wouldn't go in anyones house. Everyone fed her but she would not be anyones house cat. She has lived in the big kennel outside with loads of cushions for comfort. Had all her teeth out nearly two years ago but only comes in when it snows.0

You have a cat that is 25? Blimey! I know the world record is 36.
It's nice to hear you have all your pets ashes.
What does your cat eat without teeth? Is it really wet small meat?0 -
Hi again, just thought I would check in and see how you were doing today *S* ...
I was looking at a craft market this afternoon and, alongside all kinds of things to make cards with, they had pre-made cards and I found one that had a lovely verse ... anyway, I bought it cos I wanted to put it on here for everyone who has lost a pet ...
An Eternal Memory Of an Angel
Today it would be wonderful,
to see you play or smile,
but heaven lent you to this world
for just a little while.
And in that short but precious time,
you brought along much love
and all that love is with you now
in heaven, up above.
Your leaving caused so many tears,
and such a lot of pain,
but God needed one more angel,
so he took you back again.
Okay, pass me the tissues someone please! Lovely, isn't it though? I think I am going to print it on some small cards and then, when I have got my memory boxes sorted, I am going to pop one in each of them ... *S*0 -

25!! wow ... !! You know, when my old cat had trouble with her teeth, my vet said if people had their cat's teeth removed early on, he would hardly have reason to see them .. and their gums do harden (I guess like ours, if we have our teeth out! I know of an old chap who can eat Granny Smith apples with no bother and he had his gnashers out in his 20's!) ...0 -

I'm surviving, thanks. Nothing more, nothing less. Keep thinking I let her down, that I could have saved her.
It's a nice poem. She certainly was an angel, despite being a diva at times!0 -

Well that's quite normal and totally understandable! Just get through today .. tomorrow can wait ...
No, it doesn't sound as though there was anything you could have done. She passed peacefully and at home ... what more could any pet (or person, come to that!) ever hope for? *S*0 -
More hugs coming from us and our 2 cats. Sad news.0
