    Hi Moneysavers.
I have just scanned this thread so hope this is a vaild contribution. I do not download much and have no complaints about the broadband itself, however slowly headbutting a wall is more fun than dealing with talk talk customer service.

After, hours on hold, and then dealing with very polite but useless people; I wrote three letters to higher management (the names of which were listed on the talk talk home page). My problem (a password which was invalid) was quickly solved and a £20 gesture was credited to my bill.
If you want something done but can't go the whole hog and sue, try sending letters to three managers, each one higher than the other....it worked for me good luck.
  • Not sure if anyone's still interested in this thread, but I'll update it all the same!
In October I complained via Otelo. On 11th December I accepted Otelo's proposal - basically for TT to close the account, confirm I owe no money and that this hasn't affected my credit rating. TT accepted this proposal around the same time. They are legally bound now.
I am still receiving letters about this 'debt', currently from a debt recovery agency threatening CCJ.
Now I'm waiting for TT to talk to the debt agency to re-confirm that I don't owe this.
I can't say it enough AVOID TALKTALK BROADBAND!!

hi I keep telling people this company seems to want to destroy anyones good credit rating you have build up and all this because you want to leave them ,dont know why they just dont want to let you go and get rid of you if you dont want to be with them ,so lets all remember if everyone was to stop 1 person from joining them then it will be their lost,
but when you look at it from another way, are they now making people frighten to leave them and this is their way to keep you knowing that a lot of people will be reading these forums and saying to themselves better to stay than go throught this grief and may be end up in court for nothing .
I myself dont care anymore and will keep telling people that it is good to leave them and there are better deals out there ,so dont let this company get away with this and all who want to leave go on and leave:mad:

After several months of mither and even a court date with a credit collection agency.....

One letter from Trading Standards seems to have stopped it all.

They are a bunch of incompetent w@nkers who verge on the criminal and i urge everybody who reads this to steer well clear of Talk Talk.

    erm..... it didn't...

Received another final demand from Corporate Credit Media just before Christmas.

A follow up call also from TT who denied ever receiving any letter from Trading Standards.

Passed the information on to Trading Standards about this and now every time CCM or TT ring, I just answer and put the phone in front of the TV speaker.

No further contact so far this year.

CCM must be raking it in doing all this uneccessary work ! To be fair its not really their fault/problem, they are just acting as instructed by TT and probably charging accordingly.

Gosh, this thread is still here!!
Am busy looking for a new deal. Had forgotten about all my TT hassle last year. I never checked my credit rating though. Maybe I better had pronto. I assumed it was all resolved.
  • Well they have now passed the debt onto a second debt recovery agency called Roxburghe. They wrote to me this week chasing the money.

Really had enough of this now..... Packaged all the relevant info and posted it off to my previous contact at Consumer Advice in M/cr Town Hall.

Don't have any idea what else to do, its been going on for over 12 months now
  • I can recommend the Ombudsman route. OK, this is extreme, takes time, and needs a bit of preparation, but when TT agree to the Ombudsman's proposals you get a real life contact - a direct dial number to a real person assigned to you!!

I'm really crossing my fingers here, and touching anything even vaguely wood-like but, in my case, this seems to have done the trick.

Amusingly, I've just started to receive all the VAT copy bills which I requested 18 months ago. I have to confess I still get a tad anxious opening them in case they are another 'unpaid bill'.

    Good luck illuminate!
  • Yes I got through to the TT "Options" dept today after I'd phoned up four times, each time the CSA said they would change my phone pkg (as I wanted), but nothing was actioned! I said to the girl I would leave TT - she then put me through to this dept. I have to say, they do seem to be far better than the other bits of TT.

Thanks for bumping this thread up for me... I couldn't find it... :(

I have been having lots of hassle from TT at the minute (and had the options dept today, but the dude was REALLY RUDE to me!).... Perhaps I will try the cancellations dept.
