I recently got a faulty item sent from Kays. I was looking to return it on their website and they wanted you to call a premium number to arrange the return for the faulty item.

I thought.. !!!! that. I'm not paying to phone Kays, listening to them trying to sell PPI or other products before they'd accept the return. So I sent it back to them, marked as 'Unsuitable', with no mention of it being faulty.

I shouldn't have to pay to return an item that was delivered faulty, and I shouldn't have to listen to them blabber on about PPI. If they don't want to provide an 0800 number, then tough. I hate SDG. :rotfl:

    The Effect,

What did your barclaycard intial decline say on the letter?

The letter has now been destroyed, but it said something like...

''Thank you for your interest in a Barclaycard. We use something called 'credit scoring' to decide whether to lend to customers and unfortunately, we have declined your application due to this. There is not a single factor of why we declined you.

We hope we can be of assistance in the future''

I can apply again for Barclaycard in 4 weeks, though I'll give it a miss. :p

I think that you should stop applying for any credit or new bank accounts to prepare your credit file for when you apply for your student account and credit card.

If you want a student account with HSBC run your bank account well and they will change it to student account with the overdraft and credit card.

Thats how I got my student account and credit card with HSBC.

Got an increase on my Cap 1 card over the weekend on my fourth statement, from £500.00 - £1k :)

Have always paid in full the day I get paid to save hassle of direct debits, so all good so far. Cheers capital one

Fek all at the moment, skint.
Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.

Capital One are increasing their standard interest rates, so if you're on classic, they are increasing it to 39.94% taking effect from January 2010 to stem off credit losses!!

I just got their letter, despite the fact i have never missed a payment, and they have only a few months ago doubled my credit limit to £2,100!!

NONSENSE, eh! Ok, then why have you been turned down for a £100 overdraft limit?? A behaviour score means nothing if you have something else affecting it, i.e. the history of a managed loan!

    I would change banks a.s.ap!

Are they the same staff that tricked you into the managed loan in the first place and before you reply saying you weren't tricked, why would anybody take a loan with a higher interest rate and the word MANAGED!!!!! in front of it! Alarm bells weren't working that day!

I have now appealed to the Head Office for them to look into it to see if they will reconsider it...I agree it is quite surprising i was turned down, and perhaps on their system, i still have the account marker laid down somewhere. I take it you have taken out a managed loan yourself and had problems getting credit once loan's paid off with HSBC?
