Can anyone answer my question about ISAs, as I'm not very clued up on them.

I have a e-ISA at 1.75% with HSBC that I opened this financial year. I withdrew £200 from the ISA, so I guess I can now only put £3400 total in the ISA this financial year?

In April when the new financial year starts, what will happen with this ISA. Can I continue putting another £3600 into it? Can I open another ISA for that tax year while still adding £3600 to my old ISA?

For example, lets say you open a new ISA and have the allowance of £3600. You deposit £600 which leaves your allowance at £3000. If you withdraw that £600, your ISA allowance will still be £3000. Anything you withdraw, you wont get that allowance back. Your allowance won't change unless it's a deposit. If that makes sense.

You can only have 1 ISA. If you've deposited a total of £3600 in the tax year, you'll have to wait until the next tax year before you can deposit another £3600.

EDIT: I forgot to mention.. if you close your ISA, you will have to wait until the next tax year before you can open another one.

    Hi Effect, how are you?

I read you had some "issues" with Vodafone the other week. I tried out of pure curiosity to get one over the internet, they turned me down.

Are they really tough to pass? Cif got one, and he has a 9 month old default and he's just moved. I got an iPhone with O2, but I don't have any defaults on my Equifax file. I have 2 satisfied on my Experian.

It's all very strange to be honest.

    Hey Sutton,

Yes, had some problems with Vodafone, but all sorted now. Took the phone back that I got on contract with them. I got accepted with no deposit for a £40/month contract, but decided to take the phone back and cancel the contract.

I have an iPhone 3G contract which I got back in April. I seem to be fine with getting contracts, though I don't have any defaults/ccjs on my file, just a lot of searches and not that much history (though my history seems to be fine, just the amount of searches that are a problem).

I have 16 searches with Equifax and 52 with Experian.

Nonsense! Where did you get this from?
I had a perfect payment record on managed loan, and a decent behaviour score of 60....if they think im a high risk then, then why my hsbc internal behaviour score is 60?

If what you are saying is true, then i might as well close the account!!

I have been reassured by the staff at the branch that once managed loan is paid off in full, then i will have my account marker removed to previous status and can apply their credit products as long the behaviour score is above 50/60!

NONSENSE, eh! Ok, then why have you been turned down for a £100 overdraft limit?? A behaviour score means nothing if you have something else affecting it, i.e. the history of a managed loan!

    I would change banks a.s.ap!

Are they the same staff that tricked you into the managed loan in the first place and before you reply saying you weren't tricked, why would anybody take a loan with a higher interest rate and the word MANAGED!!!!! in front of it! Alarm bells weren't working that day!
