I'm such an idiot. My iPhone has been playing up and the silent switch broke. I stupidly signed a contract today while out in town for a N97 for 24 months at £40 (though it's showing £34 on the sheet).
I got home and it dawned on me how much of an idiot i have been. Vodafones return pollicy (looking at their website) is no returns for phones purchased in store unless you dont receive a signal.
I'm going to try and go to the store tomorrow, claiming I cant receive reception in my house. If they say no, then it's £800 to end the contract (Sell phone on ebay, pay £500 from my own money).
I don't know why I did it. I'm such an idiot. This is going to be a bloody expensive lesson to learn. I'm kicking myself now, as I always buy things without thinking. I need to start acting like an 18 year old not a 12 year old.
As you can tell, I'm kicking myself now.
Mate all contracts like that have cancellation rights, you have 7 days from signing any contract to cancel. Its not up to them, its the law!
Just go in tomorrow and say you've made an error, there is no voda signal where you live - just say you live in an older house with a lot of lead and this restricts the signal. That constitutes legal cancellationable right.
But out of interest, the N97 is actually better (IMO) than the iPhone! I love mine.... :rotfl:
p.s. £34 + vat will make the £39.95 tariff or whatever mate!2010 - year of the troll

Thanks for the replies guys. It does state on Vodas website that once you leave the store, they do not give refunds/cancel contracts. I'm going to ask tomorrow though. Hoping they will, otherwise my next pay will go all to ending this contract.0

No mate you're not listening! fcuk what they say - its the law! They have no choice, they cannot exclude terms like that! Its a consumer right to cancel any long term regulated or otherwise agreement from the comfort of your own home in case you were forced to sign! Some older people have been duped this way mate.2010 - year of the troll

Vodafone retail store
Once you leave a Vodafone retail store, purchases cannot be returned unless you have no network coverage. If that is the case, you can return the phone or device to the store within the first 7 days and cancel your contract.
You must keep to the following conditions:- the IMEI of the phone must match that from the original order
- the phone is in its original, saleable condition
- the charger and battery must be included
- the original packaging/manual must be intact
- any accessories included with the phone package (memory card/headset) must be returned.

The first fourteen days of the new contract is when you can change your mind and return the phone - I had to change 3 phones with vodafone during this time because i knew i had rights but after fourteen days it is pretty much a struggle.
NID is correct, so listen to him!0 -

I think you got confused there...7 days return i believe is if you got the phone and contract VIA POST if you ordered ONLINE (long distance sellling regulations). 14 days at stores. Hence i always had mine upgraded at store.0 -
I just spoke to them on the phone. The lady said their is a 7 day return policy over the phone but she's not sure of the return policy in store, however it's best to just go in there and tell them your situation and they'll tell you what they can do.
I'll shoot in there in a moment.0 -
