It is quite lucky that 2 of them will be removed, I spoke with the DCA who has emailed me to confirm the removal.

Oh yeah, anyone shed some light please. The DCA search from Lowell I have disputed and they have failed to respond. It has been well over the 28day requirement. What is the next step? I was under the impression that of the lender/DCA failed to respond they item was automatically supressed.

I think I read somewhere that DCA searches for outstanding debt will cause either a decline/referral with certain credit providers, also these searches take 24 months to be removed, unlike the normal 12 months!
I will hold fire on my Capital One application then

Mate it is bad - it suggests to other lenders that someone may be seeking you. If they are not yours then you can easily get them taken off.

Lowells are slow mate, I had issues with them cos they added mine. Buts its off now.

Look at my CRA thread (Credit Reference Agencies)and there is a thing there about traces .....
    Traces:
Unlike searches, a trace is performed by a tracing agent, sometimes referred to as a debt search. These are performed randomly by a Debt Collection Agency (DCA) and will show a date of search/trace and their name. Usually you will find one of these if you have a popular surname or have run-away from debt in the past. Incorrect searches/traces can be removed easily enough by writing to the CRA direct.

How long does the data remain?
Trace Searches stay on your credit file for a period of 2 years but can be appealed and removed if it is proven not to be you they are looking for.
