Car Scrappage Scheme

everythings light as a feather turns round on a sixpence and you can park in gaps where others cant get.
interior is like the tardis, the more i drive it the more i like it you cant go wrong.
Yep, I second that. I have a Micra and a Matiz, the Micra is in good nick but is 13 years old and is going for scrappage. I seriously considered getting another Matiz but husband thought having two cars the same was too boring so we went for the i10. Matiz is an excellent city car. The power steering on mine is so light I can literally steer with two fingers, fantastic for pocket parking. And as vtony says, what is quite amazing is the amount you can pack into it.0 -

Collected my i10 today, I live in Birmingham and had to drive to Bushey Heath (Watford) to get it though. But what a joy it is to drive0 -

Very strange - I'm perplexed also. It's simple enough putting petrol into a diesel car. What type of car was it? But putting diesel into a petrol car, now that is difficult because the nozzle is too big to fit in.
Cant remember, it wasnt very big and it clearly had TDI on the back of it though0 -
Have e-mailed the scrappage team but no reply as yet - any ideas roughly how long they normally take to respond?0

Quite right! Insurance have changed shedule details for free - and I got a swift response from the governement scrappage email address listed....
"In order to be eligible for the scheme, first the registered keeper must be the registered keeper of the old vehicle continuously for the proceeding 12 calendar months before the order of the date of the new vehicle. Second, the old vehicle must have valid MOT, tax and insurance. It is not a requirement of the scheme to have a named insurance policy, as long as the old vehicle is insured at the time of placing the order. Based on the information you have provided the dealer is providing you with incorrect advise. If the dealer claims to have received this advise from the Manufacturer then I suggest you ask him to contact the Manufacturers Scrappage Scheme Manager to seek clarification"
So yes I'm certain the dealer is covering its bum - however all is now sorted.
thanks for all your help.

Can anyone advise on this please?:
We have a 12 year old vehicle (small van) purchased new 12 years ago and certainly eligible for the scheme.
The problem is that we purchased it as a sole trader non vat reg business and have recently become a Ltd vat reg business. (Director is same name as current owner and same address).
If we were to purchase a new small van and put the registered keeper as identical to that shown on the old V5 can we get an invoice issued in the Ltd co name to enable us to reclaim the vat, etc.
One dealer has told us we "probably" can and another has said definitely not.
Quoting my own post here
Now had the answer back from the official site and, in case it's of any use to anyone else, it is permissable to buy the vehicle in the company name as long as the log book shows the original registered keeper. :j0
