Well she did direct me to the direct.gov website which does say the above - the only thing it doesn't say about is the insurance which, realistically, if your car was taxed and MOT'd it would be insured (we'll forget the bit about seeing the car).

Minster is almost correct about the paperwork dealers require.

I've ordered a Seat Ibiza SC Sport and I had to supply the following:

• MOT
  
• V5
  
• Tax disc

I was told the same by Mazda & Ford.

Its at the point of order bit that I want confirmed as I dont want to have to MOT again next month when my car isnt due for delivery til 1 Sept.

Yes. It needs to have a valid MOT when you place your order.

If you wait until tomorrow I will post up the number of the woman I have been speaking to. She has stated categorically that all of the things you need are only required at date of order.

I am a very lucky lady lol In regards to getting a new number plate... My dad came with me, as I think when purchasing something new you have to take someone to help you pick!!! (of which I have never done before) he asked if I could chose my registration from the list they used to let you chose from few years back.. Apparantly you just get a vehicle plate allocation but he is still looking into it for me at Ford, and seeing if he can get me to choose my own..which saves the private number plate scenario. Maybe your dealer may do the same? Im waiting to hear if he can yet, will keep you posted x

Oh wow, I would love to have a personalized number plate.

I've already thought about what I would like, the first 4 I'm not too bothered about but would love to have 'EVG' as the last 3, (my daughters initials)
