What model is that jpr?
It's the 1.6 TDI "S" model (VW excluded the SE from the additional discount before i got in)
It's got a few extras though, like metalic paint, alloys, upgraded stereo, leather steering/handbrake/gear stick and the luxury pack which is basically fancy folding wing mirrors and puddle lights.

Lovely. We got the Golf Plus 1600 TDI SE. We went for the standard Golf but having had a try in the bigger one, we decided on that - we both have dodgey backs and its so much easier to get in and out of the bigger one (and more room for the dogs
) Still havent used the Park Assist on mine though - it frightens the life out of me just taking your hands off the wheel and letting it park itself - its like driving Herbie.

Had a letter through from Renault that my car will be arriving W/C 11th November, which is interesting as it was ordered around the 11th of August - not sure how they'll deal with the three month thing.
Not entirely sure how my position works out because if they do say that the scrappage allowance has gone, even if I tell them to shove it I'm sure demand is that high that they could sell the car dead easily.0 -

Bossworld, its 16 weeks, not 3 months.
* Scrappage trade-ins can only be made against new cars.
* The new car must be delivered within 16 weeks of the date of order.
* The dealer has only 15 days from registration of the new car to obtain a certificate of destruction for the old car, get it back to the manufacturer, for the manufacturert to get it to the DVLA and for the DVLA to get it to ther Treasury, otherwise he loses the £1,000 he has already given the customer.0 -
What did you order? I was told 8 weeks by Renault but I have no firm date yet. What were you originally told?
Renault Clio Extreme - went for Aircon as the only real mod (oh and the drivers adjustable seat) - was told aircon might add another 2 weeks.
Ordered the same day my car failed its MOT (lol) which was August 10th. Was provisionally told around 8-12 weeks but they said end September/October (which didn't add up).
Had a bit more contact with the dealer who told me it might have pushed into November, letter came through from Renault last Friday telling me thanks for ordering a new car, came with some stickers, and a note that the car won't be ready 'til W/C 11th November.
Unbelievable really but glad I got my current car through the MOT now as it will have done an extra 3 months motoring as a doomed car
Hethmar - thanks.0 -
the salesperson wont bother contacting a customer unless he has some news for them, as who wants to get an ear bashing, if you can avoid it
i would think, even if something had gone awry and your car hadnt been ordered, the fact you have rung a few times would give the salesman a nudge to pull his finger out, and he'd be trying every avenue, to find a vehicle that would more or less stick to the delivery schedule they gave, at time of order
i really think to put your mind at rest, you are going to have to go the dealership in person. ive always found saying you wanted to look at the 'accessory range' is a good enough ruse to draw them in, before you go in with the killer question about delivery
Flea
Thanks Flea, we finally got a call back late yesterday telling us that the car is in Germany just waiting to be shipped across and will be with the dealer within ten days. I was still a bit dubious, but then today we got a call from the salesperson we placed the order with and he also said it would be here within ten days. So fingers crossed, the waiting is nearly over :j0 -

Got my Aygo a couple of weeks ago now,
Got £25 of free fuel included and have just about used it up with 360 miles,
I did a rough calculation on mpg and it's doing 67mpg, which is a lot better than 35mpg with my old vehicle,
So far only a couple of problems, window winders are to small for a human hand, you do need to drop down to 4th if you drop below 50 up hill on a motorway, clutch biting point is difficult to find, around 60 upwards on a motorway there is also a lot of road noise,
Other than these small problems I am very pleased with the vehicle, it pulls really well in 2nd and 3rd excellent for town, I have also noticed the speedo is 3 miles an hour faster than the speed you are actually doing.0 -
Well the Golf Plus is brilliant. No problems at all, doing a huge amount of miles to the gallon (diesel) and so quiet. Well pleased.
Cat - point taken - but how many cars are actually made in this country now. Plus side, think of all that VAT going to the government, all the servicing that will be done by British mechanics and the savings on fuel.0
