Today we are going looking at second hand C3's but hopefully today will be decision day either way.

I hope you are not being serious, a second hand C3 after looking at a new Mazda, no comparison.

I know!! If she decided to go second hand I think the C3 is a good choice for what she needs and is what we were originally looking at..... if it was my choice it would be the new Mazda all the way....:)

Lol, I wont tell her that!

In the paper today there is a local garage doing £2000 scrappage on OLD cars....just having a quick look now and although they are overpriced it could be an option as it would mean getting rid of the old one without the hassle. Has anyone else seen this? I thought it was a typo at first.

I havn't seen it, but it is sales hype, they just up their prices to cover the cost of it.

Any dealer will take your Mothers old car as a part exchange.

Yeah they are overpriced, but its like the new car scheme....if your car is only worth a couple of hundred the price after scrappage is not too far away from if you went with cash and haggled the price (the ones I have reasearched anyway)

Im soo anoyed with my dad though as we went through all the second hand, then decided on new, then had 99% decided on which new car to get and he has just blown it apart with his negativity. I feel like we are right back at the beginning again and as much as I love her she is really trying my patience :o

Well, perhaps you could point out to her she dumped him or the other way and so why trust his judgment on this subject.

Tell her to get a new car, enjoy life and ignore the old man. Sounds to me he likes to still control her even though he is supposed to be out of her life.

Thats exactly it hethmar, it has annoyed me so much as she was really excited and deserves to enjoy herself after scraping by and looking after everybody but herself for the last 30 years. I have tried explaining all this but she burst into tears. He didnt like it when I started learning her to drive when she hit 50 but she ignored him, stuck with it and passed!! A new car will give her such a huge boost, both with her driving and her self esteem.

Sorry im ranting again but people who find negatives in everything really get me wound up. I woudnt mind so much if his points were valid and needed to be considered but they are not
