Pink that is what I would like to think too and to use the word shocked is not enough but I can find no other explanation as to how these ppl can ID me from the board and mention my posts even when I used me real name and a different email address when dealing with the companies themselves. Can anyone else give any explanation as to how these ppl can put Reverbe and my real name and email when I have given neither of these out on board?

    Hi Reverbe,

I know for a fact that MSE do not use the email address you have used to register and they never pass it on to third parties. Also they could not possibly know your real name as that is not required as part of the registration process. So I really don't understand why you are blaming MSE for an email you have recieved from a third party.

Clearly nobody on this thread can give you the answers you want so it might be best to post on the Site Feedback: Questions & suggestions board where the team will see your post and have a chance to respond. However, I'm certain that they will confirm that they have never given your's or any other users details to a third party without the consent of the user.

Thank you all for your comments re my DD and her family you are all so kind and supportive.........I am waiting to hear from them when they are flying home.....trying not to worry, but its is difficult.

Marie - whats wrong with OH is the sturrip and anvil (hearing mechanism) in his ears are sending scrambled messages to his brain which is wht he is having the dizzy do's. It is probabley caused by and ear infection he could have had as a child which for some reason has been shoogled up and shown itself. He has been for his first lot of treatment, which of course sent hin into a dizzy, he has to cut out caffinated tea and coffee for 3 weeks and see what happens, then start the exercises to re-habiliatate the message path between the brain and his ears. A further appointment in 8 weeks and hopefully we should see an improvement in 6 months..........

Off to tesco to get deacff tea and coffee for him, me I'll stick to the usual stuff.

Dratted signature thingy will only take so many tiny characters and I can never get all I want on

I'm a bit scared of the Grocery Challenge, as for the first I am pathetic at it and for the second it is a looooong thread but if it helps get the spend down it will be worth it.

:( The washer repair man found that the reason the washing machine wasn't draining was that dear heart forgot to remove a significant stopper when he fitted it but the washer repair man, who has tended to the dratted machine many times, now says that it is no longer worth repairing for a 'real' problem. So I need to find the money for a new washer, which I knew I had to. I just wanted to put it off for a bit.

Well, dear heart has hit a brilliant target at work so tea now upgraded to chicken breast steaks (from freezer, on offer) with sweet potato chunks done in the remoska and veggies with condensed mushroom soup heated undiluted and used as a sauce.

Need to actually get round to finding out what is in my cupboards

    Hugs to all

Why not get LB to "help" you to empty them & then you can note what is there before he throws it all back in?

I think I'll work up to that...

Actually it is a brilliant idea, and I was once in the habit of cleaning my cupboards out once a week, so it won't hurt him to 'help' me with that!

And knowing LB the tins will be in and out like the okey cokey. And he will 'count' them, he is getting very near to the sound of the names for numbers and he loves counting along to things - buttons, steps, shoes () and I indulged him with a packet of skips and he got bored around 17 - he only makes the approximately right sounds up to ten so far, but we will see.

Sweet potatoes roasting in the Remoska, everything else primed to go.

Need to go down, get the next lot of washing in (it's like Widow Twanky's) and then need to start moving any chemicals out of the way... Also check cupboards to ensure that nothing sharp is within reach. Also check drawers - may hold off taking LB down until I can get a drawer lock on the knife drawer...

    Hugs to all.

Donny you are of course entitled to your own opinion but I have to state I am not scaremongering just warning ppl as to some loophole that I have been affected with twice now.

My private email is neither my own name nor is it in any way related to my board name.

I have several emails for different uses - one for job apps etc as my main screenname is unsuitable or may be deemed so, one main one for personal emails and use for day to day thigns inculding offers, one I had for a dating site which I didnt want anyone to have my normal one due to previous experience with a stalker, one only my ex fiance has and one hotmail one used only for msn contacts and my ex best friend.

However the breach of any of these is somethign I take seriously. My issue is rather that my privacy and confidentiality on these forums which I take great pains to protect my ID and anything that can ID me is apparently linked somehow. These companies are managing to link my private real name and email with my Forum screenname - something that only I should be able to do.

NO blame has been given to MSE But has to be said that MSE is the factor that is linking my private details with board posts. These companies are managing to track me down in real life as it were from my board posts.

Sorry but you are the one who is linking your private details to your board posts by complaining on a thread where to receive your soaps you obviously have given your name and address along with your paypal details which will indeed have your real name and address and probably a different email address. Not difficult for the company, who is obviously monitoring the thread, to tie your complaint to your paypal details, which you have given them.

MSE does indeed take all user's security seriously and as said by Pink they never give out anyone's email address no matter the circumstances but each and every user has to be aware that they are themselves responsible for their own security and that means thinking about how they post about themselves on an open forum.

    Evening all

Quiet day at work (while the boss is away....) came home cooked chilli and rice for dinner. DH came home with a letter that he and 4 others received saying there will be redundancies for 4 out of 5 of them and one will be staying - they will all be told next Tuesday as who will be staying. Fingers, eyes and toes crossed for us please :o I know you are all brilliant at rallying round when one of us is hurting or troubled. I do so hope that its good news on Tuesday.

    Hugs to you all

Only logged in to say to Katie that I really admire her courage and I am so impressed. It is really hard, especially a scar to a lady's face. Also, bad memories that go with it that are not visible can be far, far worse and to show the scar to strangers shows incredible strength.

I think it is a strange comfort that most people who you meet will be so self absorbed or unobservant that they genuinely will not notice, or notice and not really pay attention.
