    Afternoon OS friends! hi.gif
fortunecookie - welcome2.gif to the thread *hugs*
csarina - I thought of you right away too when I heard the news about swine flu in Mexico
JackieO - hope your niece is OK
Redruby - I talk in my sleep all the time apparently. Occasionally I wake myself up by yelling at someone but my piece de resistance is to sing in my sleep. My OH has recorded me more than once singing away to myself and sound asleep. I used to sing semi pro before my health got in the way so now I must be doing gigs in my sleep... :rotfl:
hilstep - Awww your party sounds fab
Katie - I really admire your attitude to your scar and it's true, people may notice it at first but things like that soon get forgotten once they know you. All they will see is what a strong, confidant woman you are!
Pen-Pin - Hope you feel better soon hon *gentle hugs*
icecube - Hope you have a fab holiday. It sounds like you will with all your friends there
Pooky - your new place sounds so fabbie (to coin a phrase!). I am very jealous of both your amazing new cooker and the fox family that have joined you! I hope you will be very happy there.
Reverbe - Our personal emails are not on show anywhere unless we post them so really unsure how you received emails... hope you find out how.
Nic1 - thinking of you still
Squiggles, ravy, Sybil, 3jays, Cranky hi.gif
    Halight - in my thoughts

Well the stardrops has gone down well in the house - my OH was in a hurry to wash his car and grabbed it to try it and said it was the shiniest the car had been in ages! I have used it on the tiles in the bathroom and it lives up to all expectations.

We finally bit the bullet and put the shower curtains in the washing machine. Threw a towel in there too and some vinegar and we got nearly all the mould and mildew off. The seams at the bottom were a little more stubborn but I had the idea of hanging them both back up and then sitting them both in two buckets with some bleach and letting them just sit there. After an hour we removed the buckets and hey presto - clean seams!

Ok, so the bread maker has been on as I fancied cheese on toast for lunch, so the house smells lovely. Lasagne and chips for dinner methinks

Better go and put my final totals into my siggy - I have gone wayyy over budget but this was the first month so shall amend my goal for May.
Warm gentle grouphug.giffor anyone who wants one today.

Need to pop into town again in a minute. all the battery operated appliance in the house seem to have died at the same time

Really ????? :lipsrseal:silenced::shhh::wink: I am so having to sit on my hands here, and not make a childish comment:rotfl::D

Reverbe, I must say I agree with Pink floss and donny, I just dont think its possible , I have never been bothered with junk mail from on here.

House all clean and tidy, 2 loads done in the wm, hung on the line, then back in . Made a chilli for tomorrow's dinner, and put the spare ribs in the sc.

Went into the garden, planted on some french beans, and squash, then started off more toms for a friend, and some more beetoot. Then the rain started and forced me in.

Just having a coffee and a sandwich, and will then try to get back out there

    Katie, well done you xx

    In an ideal world, yes.

A lot of pubs are listed buildings, or otherwise just very old, which makes adapting for wheelchairs pretty much impossible. And there are some which have several steps up to the loos; I don't know how they'd adapt those.

One landlord has told me that if he modernises the loos he will be required to adapt them, but if he just gives them a lick of paint, he doesn't have to.

So of course, he's not modernising.

    Morning all,

Reverbe, a company cannot find out your email address from MSE unless

Pink that is what I would like to think too and to use the word shocked is not enough but I can find no other explanation as to how these ppl can ID me from the board and mention my posts even when I used me real name and a different email address when dealing with the companies themselves. Can anyone else give any explanation as to how these ppl can put Reverbe and my real name and email when I have given neither of these out on board?

Lame Wolf - it is so unfair. Perhaps he should spend a day in a wheelchair. I have to say that on one level I was always happy to hold doors, give a hand etc before, now I have a pushchair I REALLY appreciate the obstacle course places can be.

Little bear is having a much needed nap - I am just going to go with the flow for naps, he was nodding, poor lamb. He had an early night last night as well. He has started pretending to fall over and pretending to cry. I wouldn't be so amused if he cried when he genuinely fell over - normally his expression says, 'how did I get here?' and he is off again. Even with his first skinned knee he was upset for seconds.

LB has also found the on/off switch for the gas fire. Fortunately it is really stiff and takes me all my time to get it switched on, and it has a safety cut out if the gas is on but unlit after a few seconds. I have told him off, and it has worked for hours now. I don't expect to use the fire again until November - any suggestions, should I try taping the thing down? The fireguard doesn't push him a long way back from the fire, he can reach over if he stands on something, and he is always moving things around to stand on :eek: Would it be safer to replace it with an electric one? I can see me living in a house with no furniture.

Off to do more washing, no idea how I am going to get it dry. Also ironing - LB permitting. Also promised myself to get paints out for LB. Trying to build up courage.

Also found dolly balls I have got from Lakeland - I will report back on their effectiveness.

    Hugs to all

Sorry Reverbe but I think you are just scaremongering, and why blame MSE? No-one has found me in 4 years. You are posting your private email for freebies, competitions. etc. Is your privte email your own name or can it be related to your MSE name. Why not as I do have more than one email for different uses.

Donny you are of course entitled to your own opinion but I have to state I am not scaremongering just warning ppl as to some loophole that I have been affected with twice now.

My private email is neither my own name nor is it in any way related to my board name.

I have several emails for different uses - one for job apps etc as my main screenname is unsuitable or may be deemed so, one main one for personal emails and use for day to day thigns inculding offers, one I had for a dating site which I didnt want anyone to have my normal one due to previous experience with a stalker, one only my ex fiance has and one hotmail one used only for msn contacts and my ex best friend.

However the breach of any of these is somethign I take seriously. My issue is rather that my privacy and confidentiality on these forums which I take great pains to protect my ID and anything that can ID me is apparently linked somehow. These companies are managing to link my private real name and email with my Forum screenname - something that only I should be able to do.

NO blame has been given to MSE But has to be said that MSE is the factor that is linking my private details with board posts. These companies are managing to track me down in real life as it were from my board posts.

I always hold doors & offer a hand when on buses - it's amazing how many people don't bother when you have a pram or pushchair.... when my DS's were small I had a proper big pram which was large enough not to miss, but the not-at-eye-level pushchair had a very useful steel footrest on the front which came in handy for accidentally catching people's ankles ;).

I also used to give the baby to the bus driver while I got the pushchair collapsed and it (and sometimes his brother) on the bus - he couldn't drive off with a baby in his hands! Although this was 20-odd years ago & I think they were a bit more used to being given a little one then!

    Afternoon all!

Just had a nice takeaway curry, charming boss paid for it for us all! Office smells rather spicy now lol! Glad I shall be off home in a bit.

OS stuff today was stardropping the kitchen and downstairs toilet, and freezing some leftovers as ready meals for when the kids moan they're "starving"!

Lunch for kids was hm rolls with ham/cheese and pickle, hm yoghurt with honey, cream egg (12 for £2.49 in Asda!), apple and and orange.

Dinner I have no idea about, can't find dd3's meal plan, think she's put it somewhere safe lol! I have a feeling that it might be leftover roast beef, which is okay, as all I need to do is pop it in the oven to heat through with some stock from the freezer. If it is that I'll do mash and veg with it.

Work again tonight, oh joy! Roll on Thursday, meeting a friend for drinks, meant to be taking pizzas with me, be nice to catch up. Quiet night with the kids on Friday I think, then off to see my new nephew on Saturday, staying over in Sussex and catching up with a few friends, and the children's friends, then kids with their dad Sunday and I'm off to Alton Towers woohoo!

Hugs to all in need, Penpin - not up to date on what's been happening lately, but extra big hugs to you. And good luck with the results of your tests - was it taplady or Mrs M? Sorry, but good luck, worrying when they test for so many things, I know how I felt for a few weeks, I gave up asking what they were testing for in the end! xx

Last time I was in town with LB, I saw a lady pushing another lady in a wheelchair, going towards the door of a big department store. Do you know, of all the dozens and dozens of people passing and lurking around the bus stop (not queue!) it was only me, with the pushchair, that offered to help. I was genuinely shocked.

And I don't think drivers are allowed to leave their cabs now, at least not locally. As for pushing a pushchair around a store - so many people just seem to stop dead right where you are going, then they look at you as if they expect you to teleport to the other side of them. LB has nearly learned some very bad words :o

And do not even get me started on frail people on buses and seemingly younger and healthier people not giving up their seats for them. I do, but if I am at the back of the bus, you end up with a ridiculous obstacle course for the old dear to get to a seat! Though sometimes you cannot tell if someone can't stand, but really!

And holding doors for someone! And saying 'thank you' if someone holds the door open for you! And saying 'excuse me'. Or 'thank you'. Or 'Sorry.'

:o Not OS, but a strongly felt subject. I shall go and have a nice cup of tea and calm down.
