    Hello!

I only re-found this thread a week or so ago and it's a great support network.

    Can I join?

I've lost 2.6lbs this week, my first week. Quite pleased as there has hardly been any exercise. I have an underactive thyroid and usually find I have to do heaps of exercise to see a slight difference.

I have about 2 stones to lose really, but my biggest problem is sticking to it. When I fall off the wagon I need to remember to start afresh the next day and not let that fresh start be the following Monday, or the Monday after that (why do 'diets' always start on a Monday?).

I was made redundant recently, so definately trying to eat healthily on a budget which can be quite difficult!

I won't ramble, but wanted to say hi! I hope you are all having a nice evening!

    xx

0.75 lb off please Raph. Slow but sure - at leat I'm hoping it's sure. Certainly slooooooooooooow.

BB - a picture of you on the bike - or even standing next to it would be good please.

Victory - :rotfl::rotfl: at knowing how to tell the difference between a basin and a sink. Useful stuff, this work experience. Glad he's being well looked after too.

Scottishlass --- HOORRRAAAYYY for you. Maternity cover is a foot in the door. What will you be doing? Apologies if you've already said and I've forgotten.

It's interesting how so many of us feel a sense of failure quite inappropriately. I still feel ashamed of not having given birth 'properly' (induced then forceps) and it was 30 years ago on Friday. Failure as a mother..... stupid isn't it? Is it a female thing?

Hello and welcome Ms London. When you fall off don't start again tomorrow - start again NOW. Learnt through bitter experience. You can do a lot of eating whislt waitng for tomorrow.

Congratulations Scottish Lass! I think it's a great birthday present to be getting. What are you going to be doing? I got my BF Jazz apples this week from Sainsburys, mainly because they seemed like good value compared to the usual Braeburn he likes to have. He seems to like them, and so do the boys. I use foodfocus.com to log my calories, and it's great from the point of view that it's a UK site, with UK supermarket own brands listed, as well as generic, unbranded products. It's easy to use, and best of all, it's free! For guitar hero, I'd say the calories burned are fairly negligible, even the Wii Fit will only burn good calories if you go at it hammer and tongs, but activities like yoga, or muscle workouts, were quite probably less than taking a brisk walk. Well done on the loss too - looks like it's your kind of week!

Victory - I hope your meds kick in soon. Pain is a very debilitating thing to deal with, as a few of us on this thread know, so thinking of you, and hoping it eases soon. Well done on selling the dress, great result!

BB - I've not got visions of you riding along on a bike looking like Judy Garland in the Wizard of Oz, and Toto in the front basket! Ooh, I do want a basket, and haven't they got all fancy these days, and expensive too!

Food has been mixed today, but that's because I was out with a friend, and I didn't want to be awkward.

    B - shredded wheat
L - fruit tartlet from Morrisons (no idea on the calories)
D - quorn sausages, 2 new potatoes & mixed salad

Tea was small, and I feel hungry now, but I felt I needed to make amends for earlier.

I've spent the afternoon/evening in the garden making the most of the warm weather while it's here. Hoping for dry day tomorrow to get more plants in.

Its 3 days a week in an accountants office in the next town, just general reception & secretarial stuff. I worked for a solicitor for nearly 2 years, I don't think it'll be that different to what I did there. I hope! It'll do till I win the lottery anyway....... ;):rotfl: xxx

I was really hoping someone was gonna tell me that Guitar Hero worked off a few hundred cals an hour. Oh well! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Thanks for the calories site too, I'll go check it out just now!! Thats good that it uses own brand stuff, cos thats all I can afford! lol The Jazz apples (is it just me or does that sound strange........lol) only have 67 cals each, which is even better! :D:D:D xxx

you right BB I have been on this thread since Jan 4th 2007, wow:D

My fav apples are braueburns but they always charge twice as much as the bags of other apples like gala or the green golden delicious so now counting costs I go for the ones that are on promotion/cheapest and have those, I wonder when apples became a household luxury?:rotfl:

Victory - An echeque is paid through paypal but takes quite a while to clear - often over 2 weeks. Don't post the dress out till you get a mail from paypal saying that the payment has now cleared. It has been known for people to receive their goods then cancel the echeque:mad: Also worth spending the extra few pence when you do send it out and send it by recorded mail - that gives you protection against an item not received claim.

    Hi ellawood,

    I've had a look here: http://www.weightwatchers.co.uk/about/ldr/index.aspx

If you click on the link halfway down the page there is a role description that outlines what WW are looking for in a leader.

They require you to be at goal or within their healthy weight range (so presumably within a healthy BMI). The basis for being a leder is to inspire the group through sharing your own positive, successful experience of losing weight the WW way.

I hope that helps, and there's contact info on that site too for you to enquire.
