How was the first day of work experience Victory?[/QUOTE]
They had no work for him so he was back home by 3:rotfl:recession has hit and he also got his boss to give him a lift home, jammy or what but he did learn one thing that we have one sink and 2 basins in the house because the sink uses a different size and length of pipe to a basin:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    sts for me this week:D

I am so taking the tablets now, the pain is excruciating:rolleyes:

Having some people come round the house for fencing quotes, can't bear seeing the neighbours kids bouncing with no clothes on on their trampoline a moment longer:rotfl:

victory -meant to say the other day about the medication. No point telling you off as you are suffering so as a result. Hope they kick in again soon.
I hate being on permanent meds too, so I understand, but you gotta take them girl to have a life.
I think I feel some subtle sense of personal failure by needing to be on meds all the time - as though I haven't been as clever or good as everyone else and now I've been shamed publically by needing the meds: does that make sense. Please please - nobody tell me I am talking nonense, because of course it's nonsense, i''m just trying to explain the subtle feelings that one has to deal with in coping with long term illness/diability/meds etc. I am forever grateful I live in a country where I have easy acces to meds.

kpc - I bought my camera on ebay for £17 = postage. It's a very decent camera about 6 yrs old. It's my 1st digital one too. Fortunately my OH had one (he paid a lot for his new 5 yrs ago) which I had tried out a little, so I deliberately got one like his so I'd have him around to show me more more stuff on it, and so I could get going straight away without needing to read the manual and go eh?
Mines a c@non powersh0t A40. I have had so much fun with it in the 6 weeks since I bought it and I highly recommend gettng a digital camera as it is greta for sharing photos with friends etc.

dmv - glad to hear you're a little more comfortable to at the mo and are taking a bit of time out - it'll probably pay to do so in the end if you recharge your batterie a bit.
Raph -I'm glad you treated yourself to the gadget: it's not like you bought it at the beginning of getting fit which is so easy to do - buy all the gadgets and then never use them beyond the first week - you have now more than proved yourself committed to exercise and activeness so it will be well used.
I think congrats are also in order that you worked really hard to clear your debts and are now able to save and buy yourself the things you choose. A real MSE success story:T:T

I think a bit of rest day for me. I'm in waiting for my bike to arrive sometime today. I won't beable to ride it straight away and the pedal etc will need putting on and I need a bit of help with that, so might be the weekend before that happens.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

    Morning all,

Oooh BB I'm all excited for you. I had a look online at the Dutch style bikes and they do look lovely. I'd need more gears than the basic ones, and the prices for the ones with more gears is amazing!

I gave my own bike a bit of an MOT yesterday evening, and my deraillieurs are now working much better. I biked to collect my son from school yesterday, and take him to the dentist, and my chain/sprocket was making a dreadful noise. It's had a good lube, and general clean up, and it's looking and going much better. If you store it in a shed over the winter months, without using it, I recommend you give it a spray of WD40 before the really damp weather starts, especially on all the nuts, bolts, etc. I spray my whole frame, and the spokes, and it means just wiping off the dust accumulated over the winter, and stops rust spots. I learnt the hard way, by not doing it the 1st year I dry stored it in the shed, and had some rust on the spokes by the following spring.

Back on topic, yesterday I ate too much protein. I had chicken for breakfast, instead of my planned cereal, simply because I kept doing job after job, band breakfast became 'brunch'. I had a yummy fruit & yoghurt for lunch, and a mid afternoon snack of half a promax bar. Dinner was lasagne, which wasn't ideal, as I feel quite stodged again today, so I'm back onto my usual meals today.

After last week's weigh in, where I was a STS, the next day or so I was about 4lb heavier, which really shocked me into taking more control. I'm back to my usual weight again now, but would like to get another lb off if possible before tomorrow. I could feel my gain though, and it was around my middle, as I felt uncomfortable when sitting down. Lower carbs have helped reduce that.

A good day will happen today. Off to the garden centre in a bit with my friend, and then biking to collect my son again today, which is 2 miles, so that will be all helping I hope. I'm definitely finding the biking easier than I did first thing in the year. I did the mile to school in 5 minutes yesterday, even allowing for crossing roads and waiting at junctions, so I'm getting faster, and I'm not out of puff now either.
One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home
