All seems to be going OK at the moment. As mentioned the other day the new eating plan suits me way better than I thought it would! My exercise went as follows:
    • Mon: Mountain biking 17km | 92 min | 479 cal
    • Tue: Hike 6km | 62 min | 315 cal | Exercise bike '13.6km' | 30 min | 127 cal
    • Wed: Cross country jog 25.2km | 210 min | 1578 cal
    • Thu: Road cycling 9.8km | 30 min | 166 cal | Inline skating (ramps) | 65 min | 354 cal
    • Fri: Run (park) 15km | 121 min | 841 cal
    • Sat: Nothing
    • Sun: Off road cycling 21km | 86 min | 524 cal | Microscooter | 10 min | 66 cal | Run (park) 10km | 74 min | 564 cal
Total 13 hours, 5014 calorie burn, 7 different activities.

Having a reduced week with the exercise this week, mainly due to other plans but also because it should do me good to slow down for a few days. I'm aiming to still do 50% of what I've been doing lately though, and kicked off this week with a cycle & run sesh today, 40 mins of each one after the other.

BB good luck with those short term objectives. Don't like to think of you having sad thoughts though :( If it's anything I can help with you know where to find me :)

Pinklipgloss, really is great to have you posting here again! That's crazy that it's a year (or nearly) since we last saw you.

Beanie hope you're doing OK? :)

FFM I have just started having roasties very occasionally again, I parboil then brush a few squirts of frylight on them before oven cooking (I know one of the foodies here will prob tell me this is all wrong!). Someone will correct me if I'm wrong but I can't imagine that method increases the calories too much? I usually do prefer a jacket spud anyway, but sometimes it's nice to have a change.

    Evening chaps

I'm sat on the sofa, aching in places I didn't know I had, with a full set of broken fingernails, sunburnt shoulders, and very tanned arms, but a very tidy garden as a result!

I have a vegetable bed - yay! We have cleared a patio area, and edged it with paving, the middle part is going to be filled with a decorative gravel/pebbles. All the crud from the garden is gone. I have lettuces of various types growing already, I've got tomato plants and strawberry plants in, and some tiny onion plants I grew from seed. I've filled hanging baskets, I've got various seedlings on the go, and have filled a mini window box, and other planters. I even got a mini greenhouse yesterday for my seedlings. My BF has put a load of stepping stones into the lawn, and done all the heavy lifting, and between us we have transformed the back garden. We've eaten outside every evening of the bank holiday, and I even did a BBQ yesterday, so we've gained another room effectively. I may try to dig out some pics to see if I can put a before/after in.

Welcome back Pinklipgloss, and welcome to Scottish Lass. Good to see you getting involved with the support and banter here. It's invaluable, and as you'll have noticed we talk mainly about diet, but it goes a bit off topic too (like gardening)!

    Food today:
    B - nimble toast x 4
    L - bacon rolls x 2
    D - salad with 1/4 of onion/cheese quiche, 1 slice corned beef
snack - packet of snack a jacks, 2 cookies

My activity levels have been higher than usual, so I think the snacks will have been fine. I just need to ensure that once my activity drops again, I reduce my food. I've got my promax bars to keep as fail-safe meals, if all else fails and I'm out and about, which I much prefer to do.

Victory - so glad you had a nice weekend, and that the celebrations went well, and that you were able to enjoy proceedings, and the meals. Perhaps practice will make perfect when it comes to looking forward to them in future? I presume the children all behaved OK for you too?

BB - be proud of those shelves, especially if they stay attached to the wall. I like your philosophical take on your feelings. Life is full of many varying shades of feelings, just like the colours in a spectrum. Some days are more bright than others. Take good care of yourself while you're feeling how you do, and if you ever want to chat, I'd be happy to lend a friendly ear.

    Granny
    - I'm admiring how you're using the BBQ in lieu of the kitchen today.

Beanie - life gets like that sometimes. My eldest is on study leave for his AS levels, and has to make decisions next term about applying for courses at Uni, despite having no idea what to do next. I feel your pain on that score. Try to get some snacks in that are healthy to curb your cravings, if that can help - it works for me.

We were forecast rain from about midday today, but not a drop so far. I've had to water the garden again, but hope we get a bit of rain overnight to help things along. I can't believe the bank holiday is over already, and some stupid so and so is going to take my BF away from me again tomorrow for work! What's that all about? He should be here with me, not working!
One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home

  • Hi Beanie

How about carrot sticks - sweet and take a long time to chew?

I've just had some water melon which was lovely and sweet, cool and thirst quenching.

30g of Kelloggs Frosties is only 111 calories - I eat them like sweets.

Victory swears by sugar free jelly - extremely low in calories.

Pickles - 25-50cals per 100g, Lidl do fantastic pickled gherkins, I love baby beetroot too.
