Welcome back Pinklipgloss :hello: and hello to Scottish Lass :hello:

DMV have you tried jacket potatoes with your roast? It's a habit I've got into now and even though I am maintaining I don't like to waste my calories on roast potatoes (I'm pretty rubbish at roast potatoes - so I'm not missing much :rotfl:)

I probably put on about a stone when I was at Uni, more stodgy foods and no cycling. Before that I had been a steady 8 1/2 stone all my life - looking back I never really needed to diet, but used to because I was a size 10 top and a size 12 bottom - and used to get comments like 'thunder thighs', 'good child bearing hips' - people don't realise the effect they have on you with thoughtless comments.

    FFM :)

FFM - no I haven't tried a jacket potato with a roast but may do that sometime so thanks for the tip. I'm VERY good at roast potatoes (I cant perfect rice tho!) and dont really enjoy veg (apart from my roast peppers and butternut squash) so I cant just load up on veg like some do, therefore the very cheap and filling roasted veg cous cous is an absolute life saver as its so gorgeous I dont feel deprived. I do the same thing when I do chips for OH as if i did normal potato or pasta etc I would feel deprived, but not with my cous cous!

BB - yeah I recognise that this is the point of year where it gets on top of me more than any other, which is one of the reasons we stick our holiday in here. That and it means the flights are cheaper and the beaches are not full of screaming kids! Dont get me wrong I love kids, but you see the last few days of holiday when the (mostly irish) schools have broken up tons of thomson etc coaches coming from the airport and the beaches suddenly have 10 times more people on them!

You can buy chainsaw's at tesco's kpc:eek: And is the doggy a 'can't do my kitchen yet substitute?:D

Some puppies do eat kitchens, our labrador only got as far as the skirting boards, but some carry on to eat cupboard doors etc. Definitely get the dog before the kitchen.

BB I tried to declutter last year, did loads of boot fairs etc and was really making headway - so why does it all look the same again? Why the sad thoughts? I've scrolled back through and I'm not sure.

I didn't say FFM - & it's one of those things I don't need to talk about (though I know I'd have lovely support here if I did) I'm just sad about an aspect of my life. Often, I think the best thing to do is acknowlege the feeling and the reason it is there and then distract myself. Sadness is a natural part of life and makes the happinesses even more special.

BB, sorry - I thought I had skimmed over something, have a hug anyway :grouphug:

Hope you have lots of happiness come your way soon, you're right about sadness being necessary - otherwise we wouldn't know when we were happy. But I hope it is a short sadness.

Well. thats the easy bit of the day over with, does anyone else find that the bit between tea time & bed time is the hardest part of the day when your dieting??

DMV My Tramadol got put up from 4 to 6 in September last year & since then I've had horrendous trouble getting to sleep. At its worst I don't sleep all night, then by 3 o'clock the next day I'm knackered! I eventually googled 'Tramadol sleep problems' & found loads of other people had the same problem if they took it too late, so now I have to try & not take them too late at night, which does help a bit.

BB I'd LOVE it if the Tramadol got rid of my appetite!!! lol I've been on it for 3 years now & thats not a side effect I've noticed, but everyone reacts in different ways I guess. I've started getting Botox in my Jaw Muscles to see if that helps...... still undecided though.

BTW does anyone have an alternative to putting sauce on pasta? I eat a lot of pasta, but usually with some form of sauce on it, which adds a heap of calories! x

Scottish lass I assume you are taking about pre made pasta sauce in a jar? The low cal alternative is a box or passata/tin of tomatoes with herbs etc added to taste. It's cheaper too.
