    Evening all!

I was a member of this thread around a year ago whilst I was living in Japan. I lost lots of weight and then returned to the UK to do a post-grad course and - you guessed it - piled the weight back on as a direct result of my lifestyle changes (my life has consisted of sitting in lectures, tutorials, libraries or my little study room!). Sad but true.

Anyways my post-grad course is almost finished - all of my assignments have been handed in so I need to get around to shifting all the weight I've piled on! Can I re-join? I plan to implement my new lifestyle from tomorrow so I won't make this weeks weight in - but should be ready to go from Wednesday next week (is weigh in still a Wednesday?).

Hope you are all keeping well - great to see some of the old faces are still around!

Hello everyone! Please can I join you all on this nice forum? :) lol

I'm desperate to lose weight!! :( 3 years ago I lost 2 & a half stone then last year I had a horrendous year & put it all back on, plus another 9lbs!!!! This is the heaviest I've ever been.
Every Monday morning I get up & start a diet. Every Monday lunchtime I give up. :rotfl:
I have NO will power, so i'm hoping that joining you guys on here will maybe help with that.......

I have a wedding on the 29th of August that I'd like to lose some weight for, but I'm not sure what a realistic goal is for then? Altogether I have to lose about 4 stone to be a 'healthy' weight......... how long should that safely & healthily take me?

I don't eat red meat & am a bit of a fussy eater....
I currently only have a part time job of 16 hrs a month (due to being laid of in November).
I take 6 Tramadol, 3 Diclofenac daily & co-dydramol for breakthrough pain. I have problems getting to sleep due to the Tramadol & I get a bit grumpy & emotional/irritable. Also the high dosage of painkillers can leave me a wee bit dopey & lethargic. I tend to use this as the reason I don't really exercise..... but mainly it's just lack of motivation at the minute. So if you have any tips for me I would be really grateful! :) xxxxx

    ScottishLass,

I'm with you on the "heaviest I've ever been" score - I'm in exactly the same position!

In terms of exercise its best to choose something you enjoy, I lost a lot of weight last year cycling everywhere as I enjoyed it so I could stick to it on a daily basis.

Also - try not to focus on the 4 stone loss - that's a fair amount of weight and the journey can easily become demotivating - instead set yourself realistic mini targets which will take you closer to that all important final goal.

    Best of luck,

    Lipgloss x

Hi Lipgloss! :) Yeah, I'm not too bothered about losing the 4 stone quickly, but eventually it'd be nice to get there. I think my first goal is the wedding at the end of August, but I'm not sure what is a realistic goal? lol I do have a bike, but I live up 2 flights of stairs & by the time I get it down the stairs I feel like I've had my exercise! :D I've got a Wii & Wii sports, the tennis is really good & you do feel like you've had a workout after half an hour! I've also got a few exercise dvds, which are fun, I just can't get up the energy to do them!I live in a lovely part of Scotland & really should be out walking about. Thats my aim for tomorrow - to get out & about on a proper jaunt!!! Thanks for the support! x

I'm in Scotland too - I live across the road from a loch so I really should make a effort to walk around it! LOL! That might well be a good idea for tomorrow....

Unfortunately its man made so its not as pretty as the real thing - but you can't have it all!

I think its safe and realistic to aim to lose 2 lbs a week.

That's almost 2 stone - you'll definitely feel amazing having lost that much weight!

The last time I managed to lose weight I nearly had a heart attack in the shower. I felt a lump under my skin just under my breasts, it took me a minute to realise it was my ribs! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:It'd been that long since I'd seen them last!! Oh, I hope I do it! It'll be good being able to come on here for advice & support, I really don't have much in the way of will power, so this'll be a big help!! Anyway, I'm off to bed. Thanks for the chat though Lipgloss! xx

Welcome aboard newbies. I am pretty sure you will find some inspiration here, lots of goods ideas, lots of chatter, and lots of giggles at each other.
I am just about to leave for a walk around Lanark Loch (maybe a couple of times if i can persuade everyone else), we're starting out small, and want to do it early before that fish n chip shop opens
I've still got about 2 stone to lose, my daughter took some pics of me in my underwear at the weekend, I was shocked at how well hidden that 2 stone was, maybe that's why i have been naughty all weekend, should have got her to take some in my undies b4 the weight loss. :rotfl:would have put me off chocolate and crisps for life.

Frogletina, it would let me put in my half inch either, so i cheat and make myself half an inch taller :p
    4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j
