Granny you did make me giggle...get a working kitchen and then go and cook outdoors.Someone in our street had the same idea and DF was miserable as sin about it. I had to remind him that its only a few weeks now and we'll be able to do the same.

I'm feeling very sad for myself this evening-and a little pathetic about it too. I went out this morning to the cake shop to get supplies for the guitar cake I'm making for Wednesday-it was such a beautiful day and I think I prayed all the way, thanking God for the beauty of all the little things that were about today.
But then when I went into the bedroom earlier to get a new tea towel out I noticed the back of me and how wide I look:(
When I had my check up yesterday she had me weigh with my trainers on and it was 92kgs, so I know when I weigh tomorrow I'll get an STS at best.
I'm normally very self conscious about my weight but dont get completely down about it.
DF was late in last night so he ordered chinese for me and when it arrived I felt bad about leaving it-so I ate it. Granted he did order chicken and mixed veg for me without the rice-but still. Then when I got home he had been down to the co op and got a small bottle of brandy and some coke.He said it was his treat because he's been so horrible this week and I've put up with him so well I've almost finished a whole bottle of coke today:eek:

    Hello All,

A quickie before bed. i've been outside in the garden all day, and we've done loads. We've cleared the last cruddy part of the garden, and started to lay a new patio, BF has put some stepping stones down the lawn, and it's generally transformed.

The blue tit hasn't been around today, so not sure about the nesting now :(

I hope the wedding celebrations are enjoyable you guys.

I hadn't realised, but I got sunburnt on my shoulders today, but once I got out of the shower it tingled. Must remember my sunblock in future - I'm usually really good about that, so rather disappointed in myself to have forgotten.

The sunshine was so gorgeous here today, and even when it clouded over a bit, the breeze was warm. We were outside from 9.30am and I finally came back indoors at 8.30pm (altho' I did cook lunch & dinner too).

    Food today:
    B - 2 slices wholemeal toast
    snack - banana
    L - 2 slices bacon in a ciabatta roll
    D - h/m lasagne and salad
snack/treat - a few cubes of fruit & nut chocolate

I'm going to sleep well tonight methinks!
One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home

Oooh Granny, you're having the gait analysis? :T I found that quite fun myself, even though I wasn't used to running on a treadmill at all and they must have wondered what was going on at first :rotfl:

I think I tried on about 14 pairs in the shop before making my final decision. It was way more than I'd ever spent on trainers before, but eight months later I know it was worth it.

Fantastic result FFM! Have you noticed changes in your body since you've upped your exercise regime?

I hope you're feeling better today Polkadot, I know you said it's not like you to feel down. You should feel good that you're still here and haven't given up!

Things are fine here, I'm sticking to the new plan but getting pretty much identical results as before - i.e. weight gains following heavy exercise days when net cals are low. No additional gain though, which is encouraging.

I really like the 6 smaller meals a day plan, and I'm eating more healthily now that there's no 'spare' allowance for snacks and no need to eat between meals :) I tended to waste some of the between-meal discretionary allowance on unhealthy things before. Now I usually only have a stash of 'sweet treats' (which replace a meal) when I'm out on a long run or cycle.

    Tut tut.
I allow myself one day a week where I have a nibble of chocolate. If you starve yourself of something it just makes it so much harder. Everything in moderation! i30-14.jpg

Nah, it's that binge thing totm n all that. I've done well, I can afford to have the occasional lapse. Just pees me off when it's a big one like this. I'm not really a big chocolate eater, my biggest downfall is my crisps. But I've resisted them :T

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: not exactly a working kitchen yet Polka, just a working sink. But I'm gald I made you laugh.

Sorry that you felt down yesterday ... just remember that every day is a new beginnning, what you ate is just history. But maybe have a word with your OH about diet coke?

Yes I'm summoning up courage to go for the gait analysis, Missy.

Well done for resisting the crisps Mazza. The trouble is there are just so many things to resist, aren't there? I regulalry 'give in' to chocolate but I make sure it is last thing at night so it doesn't set a pattern for the day.

hello, just popping on with a totally off topic question...
I have a friend who's husband has just left her and their 4 yr old. If she earns about £90 a week and he is still paying the morgage etc, does anybody know if she would be eligible for any benfits other than tax credits? (She can't face going though the whole form filling at the mo, she'd just like a clue as to whether she might be able to get income support until she finds her feet and another job).
I would imagine her income would be considered "too high" at present?

Back on topic...trying hard not to eat for england. Honestly, I get to grips for a few weeks and then it all falls apart. Back off topic...trying to do DIY today. About to use elec saw to cut shelves. Least fav job is driling holes in walls and fixing things up, which comes next. I know technically I am capable of doing it but just hate it:confused:.

    BB ambles off muttering incoherantly...
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

She should get tax credits. All can be done over the phone. Think this would replace income support, should still get related benefits too.

I hate drilling too btw, you're not alone, but love the feel of doing something like that without resorting to asking a man to do it for me :o

Edit: Blah misread about the mortgage, ignore that part if u have already read it
