It's to do with companies programming their PDQ machines to recognise the cards as Visa Credit and not Visa Debit.

Don't need activating, just use in place of the old card, with same PIN number. I think you only have to activate them if they are lost or stolen?

Oh, that is the reason why the card does not show up as pending activation.

So it replaces a solo card? I believed blue ones replaced solo and purple ones replaced maestro.

morning everyone!

i just have a question regarding a transaction i made on my new visa debit ( full authorisation one like old solo) so if any of the ppl who work for the banks canhelp i would be most grateful!

i bought an item online from qvc on monday night, it then showed up as a transaction on my account the next day as all my transactions did with solo.. however on checking the account this morning the transaction has dissapeared!!?? and no longer shows therefore recrediting my account with the amount.

can anyone tell me what has happened as i have been used to aolo where it comes straight out of the account and shows immediatly i liked that as i never got lost with balances ect and knew exactly where i was. is it a case of that now it willworklike the other cards and could take five days to show up. although it was there then dissapeard!!

This happens all the time with me it comes off and its back on the next day. You can spend the money if your not careful and it will come off in 2-3 days. I didn't think it could happen with Full Authorisation cards, have you been upgraded to cheque guarentee ? There is £20 in my account at the moment that is "spent" . I used to be able to pay off my barclaycard bill in full and the funds would be back in my account the next day. It stopped doing it now, so i guess it is dependant on the retailer.
