I have a step account and ordered a replacement visa debit on the 14th. It has never arrived. I called actionline on the 1st and they said it wasn't ordered. The bloke said he would order a new one for me, but I don't see it yet in online banking under the pending activation cards.

Has anyone received their visa debit for a step account?

I 'ordered' ours on the 17th - never arrived, so called on the 30th to see if they had left, & like yours, mine were never ordered. The woman I spoke to ASSURED me that they were DEFINATELY on order this time, still nothing through as yet. My online banking won't allow me to access the 'activate new debit card' function, it says I haven't got a suitable account, so unsure where else I would get the card info.
Will give it a few more days then call them again.

Hi hope this is relevant but I contacted my bank saying that my solo went in the wash on my step account, so I requested a new one, this was on the 23rd. It arrived 06/10/09 by a man knocking on my door asking my name and then said "new bank card" ( I never signed anything). Anyway my point is mine never came by post it came via hand delivery and it took ages.. well it seemed like ages as I discovered that they had cancelled my solo, so for over 1 week I had no access (unless I went into the bank) to my money. So for some reason these are taking ages to be delivered. Fingers crossed that yours arrives.

Its already being being investigated by the change management team.

I made two transactions to paypal shortly after receiving my new visa debit card. On both transactions I have been charged £1.25. When I contacted natwest they told me to contact paypal as it was nothing to do with the bank
  • Has anyone had this problem with rbs visa debit? As I dont get charged on my solo/maestro card?

Am I right in thinking this is just full authorization v debit or is this on service card 100 offline cards as well?

    Regarding the £1.25 PayPal charges:

I managed to get it sorted out eventually with NatWest and they've refunded the charges and the cost of my telephone calls. It took a lot of hassle and running around, but I got it sorted :j

They are aware of the issue and are trying to sort it with PayPal, but until it has been sorted, all customers with the new Visa Debit cards will be charged £1.25 for each transaction. To avoid this charge, I was advised to set up a direct debit to PayPal, rather than pay with my card.

    Peter.
  • Is this natwest service 100 cards or the step acc solo replacement?

Anyone had this prob with the rbs visa debit cards or is just pratwest

According to this post, RBS cards are also affected by the charge.

Maybe I wasn't clear what I meant was the branch should refund the charge if it is incorrect as i'm guessing it won't be automatic when the problems are corected.
