After reading the Natwest website about the debit card, I think there is no need to report the card as lost/damage, etc...:

My Maestro or Solo card hasn't expired, can I keep using it even though I've been sent a new Visa Debit card?

When you receive your new Visa Debit card you should start using it immediately. You should destroy your existing card by cutting it through the magnetic strip and through the chip. Your existing card will be cancelled and will stop working before the expiry date stated on the card.

  • It says up to the END of 2010! some people dont want to wait up to 1 year for a visa debit when there solo/maestro does'nt work in some places , not everyone will be getting them straight away!

And alot of peoples don't expire until after 2010.

Ones that are due to expire after 2010 will still be replaced before the end of 2010

I would like a Visa Debit card now, how do I apply?
Pop into your local branch or contact telephone banking. Remember, a Visa Debit card will be sent to you automatically before the end of 2010 if you have a Maestro or Solo card at the moment.

Just ordered my replacement card from Ulsterbank aswell :T

I have a servicecard with cheque facility, is there a possibility that they will downgrade customers now that all cards are visa debit ?

It doesn't say in the terms and conditions sent out that you will get a like for like card.
