Think i`ll give them a call with this excuse this afternoon,............. Hope we are right about the dates.......... there is no word of a changeover on the UB website LOL

I dont think ulster bank starts until the 17th Sept.

There website dont seem to have been updated unlike natwest and rbs.

However this leaftlet makes references to visa in it.

Im sure they heard that old chestnut loads of times today lol

However the website does incourage people to ring up before they automatcially get one.

I would like a Visa Debit card now, how do I apply?
Pop into your local branch or contact telephone banking. Remember, a Visa Debit card will be sent to you automatically before the end of 2010 if you have a Maestro or Solo card at the moment.

I've just called to report my SOLO card lost and was told 2-4 days. Didn't dare ask what type of card, so I might be surprised!

Well keep ya fingers crossed the card might not even get produced until the 17th or after.

Give them a call on wednesday and ask if your card has been produced yet. If they say yes just ask them out of pure interest what the first 4 digits of your card number is.

Ok, think i`ll just wait and see. been waiting weeks now and i bit the bullet and rang them today after reading this thread. Is it defiantly the 17th that the changeover is happening? If so and its another solo I think i`ll use the "I never received it" one

I'm very impressed with the turnaround time for the cards to arrive (i.e. 2-4 working days). Some take 5-7 days.

Making cards are easy though. The staff just need to order one on the computer. Then at the card company, the person recieves an order about a new card. After that, it gets sent to the makers to print the customer name, card number, and sort code/account number.

    Well done Natwest!
